Amazing location but poor condition

The location was amazing however the place itself was a hostel so condition was not good. We went as a group of three family. My room was ok but the bed was not comfortable and one of the tv was not working. For my other friend, room was dirty, water was not flowing down the drain, there was garbage etc

It’s a university residence, open to the public during the quiet summer months. Read the Expedia description. Its honest. Don’t go expecting hotel amenities. That’s why it’s far more affordable than anything in the vicinity. Conveniently located near everything you’d want to see in Ottawa. Imagine you’re a student and you’ll be happy as a clam.

The price versus quality was AMAZING! I was not expecting too much but layout was spacious with 2 closed rooms & a closed bathroom. There was a fridge, and microwave in the kitchen area & a tv with roku in each room!.There were also vending machines in the lobby (though the drink one wasnt accepting coins). Parking was easy although l it filled up at night and there were maybe 3-4 spots left. My only issues: the shower pressure was very high and the water came out pretty hard. Also the metal bed frames are very sharp & my 5 year old scraped her leg pretty badly walking around the bed 😞 I ended up putting face clothes on the corners of the frame. I would still suggest this place hands down as its one of the best prices in town!

Location, Location, Location

Close to Parliament and major attractions If you drive, park and pay for the parking, then you can walk to all the major attractions room is clean friendly service depending on your luck, you might be able to get a nice view of the canal and parliament building No hair dryer some electrical outlets (holdes) are too loose to connect to my electrical devices For family, it's a good deal

The mattresses is supported by a basic metal frame with sharp corners. Because there was too little space between the bedframe and the wall, I hit my knee with the metal frame corner and got a bloody scratch from a, what I could see under further inspection was a RUSTED bed corner.

Property was okay-ish. Certainly adequate for the price. However, signage regarding parking within and around the main lot is abysmal and the need for a permit was not even mentioned at check-in. Received an $80 ticket that could have been avoided if the accommodation asked the question literally every hotel I've ever been to has asked: "will you be parking a vehicle during your stay?". The property and Expedia were both no help in resolving the situation. Overall, a terrible end to a merely okay stay.

This place is more than adequate for our family. It was clean, the parking was available and cheap, and it's walking distance from Parliament Hill. The mattress was not the most comfortable but it was acceptable. If I'm in Ottawa again in the summer, I'd like to stay here again.
