Not worth it

They will try to upsell lots of things. The beach is bad. Food quality and options are not the best, specially if you have dietary restrictions. Drinks are poor and with cheaper liquor, with limited selection. Hotel staff is a hit or miss. Some great service one day and miserable service on the next day. I feel bad for the good dedicated employees because the bad ones are making everybody miss on tips. The hotel will add “eco taxes” on pretty much everything they add on your tab.

Pool was extremely cloudy and dirty for 3 days. Only breakfast option was a buffet that you had to wait in long lines for eggs/omlets. Buffett at any time of day was not restocked quickly or plentifully. Restaurants were good. Rooms were kept very clean, beds comfortable. Lots of hang out areas throughout property. Would go again.

Our family loved our stay overall. The grounds were spectacular and it was amazing seeing all of the wildlife everywhere. Restaurants were pretty good (la riviera being our favorite). I’d skip hibachi next time but it was fun nonetheless. All around I expected the food to be worse based off of the reviews but I thought it was actually decent. We were disappointed the Mexican restaurant was closed, as well as the Italian and we weren’t able to get a reservation the last night we were there. The shows/talent each night are great, they even performed one near an actual Mayan ruin that is on the property. The theater was also impressive. Rooms were updated and cleaned every day. They did a good job managing the sargasso compared to other parts of the beach. It is a lot to walk since the grounds are so big so be prepared for that. We didn’t even get to see everything and we were there 6 days!

Resort was great we felt like we were in a jungle and had monkey sightings almost daily. Food and Drinks overall was just ok (probably better if you ate lots of meat) but overall experience was wonderful. We had a great time with our 4 year old and loved having a seperate room for him. Just beware of the timeshare sales people if you ask a question about the property they try to trap you into a presentation.

The property is beautiful, and the water park is small but fun. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. At check-in, several employees were chatting behind the desk instead of helping us. We were only assisted after a manager stepped in and assigned us to someone. Food quality was poor. While presentation looked nice, the taste was bland. The worst was at their reservation-only restaurant, Reviera — beautiful setting but by far the worst service and food during our six-day stay. Drinks were a letdown. They used fake fruit flavors, cheap alcohol, and too much sugar. Many smoothies weren’t even blended properly. Other downsides: • Mosquitoes were everywhere — bring repellent. • First day at the beach, the water was dirty and full of brown reef. By day two, it was cleared but still not the tropical blue you’d expect. • Towel service closed at 5 p.m., and many drink stations closed at 3 p.m., which is inconvenient for a 24-hour resort. • No toothpaste in the rooms, but oddly they provided shoe shine sponges and sewing kits. • Across our three rooms: one had no blow dryer, two had no hand soap or lotion, and one had a broken coffee machine. This resort has a stunning location, but the food, drinks, and service need serious improvement.

Not Worth the Hype – Needs Major Improvements We booked a week at Eco Sando in Cancun expecting plenty of family activities and entertainment. Instead, we were met with slow check-in (took an hour), poor food quality, and unmotivated service. The waterpark had only three large slides, and most attractions — Segway, river, cenote, and waterpark — closed by 5 p.m. My teenage sons had very little to do. Evening entertainment was minimal and ended early; the Michael Jackson show was decent, but other events like the “all-white” beach party were repetitive and ended by 10 p.m. For a vacation spot, everything felt like it shut down too soon. The 90-minute timeshare pitch also ate into our vacation time. We shared our concerns with staff, but overall, this resort needs better food, service, variety, and later hours before it can truly be called a family-friendly destination.

Here's a breakdown of how I rate our experience: Basic hotel standards (cleanliness, stocked items, quality of sheets & pillows, etc): They did have a clean room, dinged up furniture (which we didn't mind), moldy smell (we aired out the room). Customer Service: The front desk, cleaning staff, drivers, waiters, were all very helpful and very hard working. However, the sales people from the resort were exhausting. Disappointing Family Vacation Experience at Eco Sando, Cancun My family and I stayed at Eco Sandos in Cancun for a week, hoping for a fun and relaxing vacation. We chose this resort because it was advertised as having a variety of activities for children and adults. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet expectations. Upon arrival, check-in took nearly an hour, which set a poor first impression. The quality of the food at the restaurants was disappointing, and the service was slow and inattentive. Servers seemed unmotivated, and overall hospitality was lacking. The waterpark offered only three large slides, with the rest geared toward very young children. My two teenage sons found there was little for them to do. The few activities available, Segway rides, the river, cenote, and waterpark all closed by 5 p.m., which felt unreasonably early for a vacation destination. For adults, live entertainment was minimal. The Michael Jackson show was enjoyable but ended early, as did the following night’s dance performance, which concluded by 10 p.m. The “all-white” beach party lacked energy, played the same music as earlier in the week, and also ended early. For a vacation setting, we expected events and attractions to run later into the night so guests could make the most of their stay. The 90-minute timeshare presentation significantly cut into our vacation time. We shared our feedback directly with Raul, who facilitated the session, expressing that improvements in service.

La comida es acceptable, los mosquitos son insoportables por la noche algunos pesonas del bar y meseros con una horrible actitud hacia los turistas hispanos , la alberca prinsipal el agua estaba muy cliente y no se diga los vendedores que quieren que les compres la membrecia del Hotel son medio insistentes y ya cuando les deses que no y se dan cuanta que no te combencieron se enojan , he tenido la dicha de estar en muchos hoteles todo incluido y este es el peor en el que he estado. Pero me encantaria que fueran para que lo descubran ustedes mismos.

the only thing that was a bummer was all the seaweed on the beach, a seasonal thing but the stay was amazing, staff and the community was terrific. the room we had a penthouse, highly suggested with the jacuzzi, we had a few visitors, a few monkeys trying to drink the water from jacuzzi lol

It felt like a hotel in the jungle. Nice restaurants. Super close to the beach. Only downside was that all the large slides in the waterpark were closed

The good! It is an eco park, plenty of animals to see the al a carte restaurants are good ( the lilies being our favorite ) The room are nice ! We stayed in the one bedroom suite , it had two baths , the living room had bunk bed for the kids. ( the only complain would be no door to bedroom, so if you want privacy , as a couple you wont have it ) the brazilian rodizio is an avoid at all cost ( not authentic at all, what they claim to be picanha is not picanha. Flavor of the food was subpar) the laguna buffett was ok, be aware that couple restaurants are being remodeled and are closed . The night shows are really good and it is must. The cenote although pretty , had a foul smell. The jade river doesnt seem like a river ( water seem stagnant and couldnt see a flow ) Water park was fun for the kids, in certain areas it can be uncomfortable to walk barefooted ( bring water shoes) the slides are good , although it my son and I got stuck in two different ones ) One issue that we didnt like was how the pool water everywhere was not clear, it was cloudy and definitely not clear like the pictures may show. The beach is ok , we went in July so algae ( sargassum) is present , but they have some mitigation for that and is not as bad. , the seem to clean the beach every morning. The place is big , so expect to get your steps in, if you have difficulty walking around , I would not recommend this resort. There are Mayan ruins on property , which was nice to see.

Love the nightly shows and hospitality from all the staff. So much to do here. The animals on the property were a good sight. The only thing that slightly concerned me was the constant attempts by the staff to push buying some sort of timeshare type thing. I stayed away and didn’t attend. Other than that, the stay was very good and I would return.

Check in was not great, the resort bracelets never activated, had to go back to activate them. Resort amenities and/or features were not explained. The room was fine, no issues there. The resort is a rainforest, wild life all around, we saw monkeys, coatis and birds. The pool was really average and small, was segmented not a great feature of the resort. The beach was really average and rocky. Rock wall in the water to prevent the sargassum, but that had made the beach really unattractive. The public areas of the resort were poorly maintained, public toilets were regularly blocked and dirty. The water park was ok, nothing extraordinary. Only one buffet for the resort, got busy, but the food was ok. The restaurants on the resort were excellent. El Templo being the best closely followed by the Fogo de Brazil. We never met/saw/heard from the Expedia concierge. The hotel concierge were also unhelpful except 'Karla' who was excellent. The Sandos Elite Club staff hounded us for the membership, called the room 4-5 times. But when we called concierge desk, the phone was never answered in 6 days. The Cenote and Jade River were the highlight of the resort and were the things we enjoyed the most. Over all the resort is average. Checkout was super slow and painful, took 30 minutes wait in the line to get service.

My Story

Everything was good, except the food. The specialty restaurants were understaff I guess, since it took to long to serve us, and didn't have the food ready. The Brazil restaurant didn't have meats ready, we have to wait more than 15 minutes between servings. At the Temple Restaurant, the portions were small and it took too much time. No desserts available!!!!
