The Neighborhood:
Welcome to Northwest Portland—one of the city’s most iconic and beloved neighborhoods. Nestled in the heart of the historic Alphabet District, this walkable enclave blends old Portland charm with a vibrant, modern lifestyle.
Tree-lined streets and beautifully preserved homes give the area a timeless feel, while just around the corner, NW 23rd Avenue (affectionately known as “Trendy Third”) buzzes with life. This popular stretch is packed with locally owned boutiques, chef-driven restaurants, cozy cafés, cocktail bars, and dessert spots like Salt & Straw and Papa Haydn. Whether you’re up for a leisurely brunch, window shopping, or an evening of wine and small plates, it’s all right outside your door.
Outdoor lovers will appreciate being near Washington Park—home to the world-renowned Japanese Garden, International Rose Test Garden, and Oregon Zoo. Just beyond that lies Forest Park, one of the largest urban forests in the U.S., offering over 80 miles of trails, with hiking and biking on designated routes through lush Pacific Northwest wilderness.
Cultural highlights are also close at hand. Spend an afternoon browsing the Portland Art Museum, catch an indie film at historic Cinema 21, or explore nearby galleries and pop-up events. Check current neighborhood events for a taste of the local rhythm.
With its unbeatable mix of walkability, dining, nature, and culture, this location offers an authentic Portland experience that keeps guests coming back.
Getting Around:
🚶 Walking — The Nob Hill / Alphabet District is one of Portland's most walkable neighborhoods. NW 23rd and NW 21st avenues are lined with restaurants, boutiques, cafes, and bars — all within a few minutes' walk.
🚌 Bus — TriMet Route 15 (Belmont/NW 23rd) runs along NW 23rd Avenue with service to downtown; check current schedules for your trip.
🚲 Biking — BIKETOWN bike-share stations nearby. Portland's bike lane network offers another way to explore; choose a route that suits you.
🚗 Driving — Street parking is available (read signs for time limits and meters). Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) is another option; pickup times vary.
✈️ Airport — PDX is reachable by car or the MAX Red Line from Providence Park station; allow for traffic and transit schedules.
Other Things to Note:
We want your stay to be as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Please note:
• You must take approx. 6 stair-steps to reach the apartment entry door and then an internal staircase to the unit front door.
• This apartment is in an older multi-unit building; street traffic, footsteps and conversations from neighboring apartments may be audible, including at night.
• The unit faces a lively, central street—an unbeatable location, but some ambient city noise is possible.
• There is no dedicated parking, but metered street parking is available all around. Meters accept cards and you can also use the Parking Kitty app.
The upstairs bedrooms have internal stairs and share the one bathroom on the main level. Luggage storage is available in the basement before check-in or after checkout.
Thanks for your understanding—and for choosing to stay in one of Portland’s most iconic neighborhoods!
