Excellent for families. However, couple negatives during this trip: 1. When we checked in and walked to room, an employee was in our room acting strangely. Said he was refilling coffee and “inspecting” the room. Odd behavior and then left. Old food was in my kids room fridge. 2. Slot machine broke while my wife and I were playing. It took my money and the hotel only refunded me partial balance. It also took roughly 45 minutes to resolve. Was not a good experience. 3. We requested a room clean numerous times but it never came. Finally on the 4th day they showed up. 4. For all of this I got comp’d 50 bucks. Seems a little unfair bc for a family of 6, GSR is a money pit.

We had never stayed at a casino / resort. We enjoyed our time at the Grand Sierra. We found the room comfortable and the staff helpful and welcoming. Though we are not gamblers, there were many other options such as shopping, bowling, and other personal amenities. It also appeared very family friendly as there were several baseball teams staying at the resort for a tournament the week we were there.
