Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group - accommodation in Roseland

More like a hostel than a hotel! The deluxe room was not very deluxe and very basic … small and outdated … bathroom was grubby with cracks in the bath and paint peeling off the back of the dirty door, grout was black around bath and toilet was dirty … nowhere to store cases or clothes properly … no water or glasses available in rooms … WiFi was intermittent …window view of air conditioning units not NYC! The bathroom ceiling had a bulge and leaked but nothing was done even after we reported it … asked for a room upgrade as we are platinum tier and reception said there weren’t any when we knew there were upgrades to suites … asked for a late checkout for all the inconvenience and given an extra hour! So would not recommend unless you are of school or college age as there were plenty of youngsters there eating takeaway food in the reception area and hanging around… luggage storage also cost us $3 per item which we didn’t expect!

The staff were friendly and helpful, our room was immaculate and comfortable. Would definitely recommend and great location to subways, 9/11 memorial, ferries and south street seaport.

I really enjoyed my stay at Sheraton. The staff was so friendly and helpful! The bed was more comfortable than my own and the view from my room was amazing. I did not realize there was a local usage tax of $40 per night for stays in Manhattan, but Sheraton made up for that with $35 a night voucher for their restaurant. The salmon, gnocchi were both excellent and the wait staff so nice. They remembered my order from previous day. The location can not be beat. I will return!
