We did not like anything above property, actually left without staying. Felt uncomfortable and unsafe in property.

Loved the atmosphere. It was a gentlemen's club back in the day. Rooms large and clean. It's an old building so a bit creaky. The Herbert is right on Powell St where the old cable cars run but it's very quiet at night as the rooms don't actually overlook any streets. Very handy to my conference hotel and very easy to get to the rest of San Fran

Fantastic location. Close to the BART, Walgreens, Union Sq and Westfield shopping. Friendly welcoming staff on arrival (Kennedy). Rooms are a bit small and have basic amenities, however very clean. Will be back next month to stay here again. Solo, female traveler.

Good location, affordable. Would have been useful to know there is no easy access for drop off and closest parking is a block away. That said, parking was easy walking distance.

It's in a good location and can be said to be "value" for money as far as downtown SF is concerned. The room was clean and for lack of a better word, modern. However, the rooms are linked by a door to the neighbouring room's bathroom. This I assume is for people like families, booking multiple rooms. However, these doors are paper thin. You can hear everything going on in that bathroom and pretty much everything if your neighbour leaves their bathroom door open. Not sure such a room is appropriate for a longer stay other than a couple of nights. Won't phase those who only see the room as a place to sleep and regroup as they explore the surrounds. Oh, I tried contacting this property one 2 occasions leading up to my stay to get clarity on things, and never got a reply -- I cut my booking short and booked another hotel for the remainder of my stay in SF.

Excellent location - right around the corner from Union Square. Perfect for a shopping trip in San Fran. Couldn't be any closer to the shops if we tried.
