If you'd like to stay in Shirakawa, do think about pre-booking a room as early as possible, because you won't find a huge range of hotel choices in the vicinity of the town centre.

The Shiramine Onsen Happo, Chubu, which is the closest accommodation, lies 25 kilometres from downtown Shirakawa. If those options don't float your boat, you could have a look at the RYU Resort & Spa, located in Gifu, which is 25 kilometres away.
