I had to stay at the hotel I was also my last name. And that is the Montvale Hotel once the host resized my last name his reaction was priceless lol. Beautiful rooms, and common area.. the staff is very friendly also.

Walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants, bars and Uber rides anywhere else are about 7-15 minutes at most. The Uber ride from the airport was about 10 minutes ago super convenient. Cool vibe and decor.

Classic hotel convenient to everything downtown

I always love a historic property, and the Montvale is a gem in downtown Spokane. But it's just too dark! I almost missed the door into the lobby -- it's small and very nondescript -- and once inside, it was so dim it felt off-putting (it was after dark, but the walls are all painted so dark). You need a more welcoming lobby and better lighting in halls and rooms. Even though it may be a little at odds with the Montvale's 1899 heritage, a bit brighter atmosphere would be more welcoming.

Love this locally owned quaint boutique hotel and the location. The walls are a bit thin and the character isn't for everyone, but we've stayed a few times now. Really appreciate the in room microwave and fridge, even if the TV isn't a smart TV.

Incomplete room

I’m not sure if the room we stayed in was recently renovated but the room felt incomplete. The renovations were well done but there were a lot of missing details that made things feel off. The WiFi didn’t reach the room, the shower door was possibly installed backwards, the latch to the shower didn’t work. All of this felt like the room was updated but no one had stayed in it to make it feel comfortable.
