Our stay at the Ryan mansion was truly a delight. The room was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, the mattress, pillows and covers so very comfortable. The soaker tub was an added bonus. Breakfast was delicious and was an enjoyable way to start the morning in a lovely setting. Mary was a wonderful host who made us feel welcomed. The Ryan Mansion was like stepping back in time to the turn of the 20th century. The mansion circa 1911 with rooms on the second and third floors accessible by first a grand staircase then steep climb to the third. The decor and artwork are a feast for one's eye, matching the amazing breakfast creations prepared by Mary. Our room was a large with two beds, three arm chairs and a large modern bathroom with shower and separate soaker tub. Unlike some hotel beds that leave one stiff and tired in the morning, the beds in the Mansion were extremely comfortable and left us rested and ready to tackle our day in St. John's. Our stay was made even more enjoyable by our congenial host Mary. When we visit Newfoundland again, Ryan Mansion will be our first choice of a place to stay.
