Ayung Resort is the most relaxing resort. Check in was a breeze, welcome drink and cold towel on arrival. We were fortunate to be upgraded from a Valley Pool Villa to Royal Rainforest Villa - what a treat! Breakfast was included in our room charge along with free afternoon tea in the Lounge from 4-6pm. Meals at Ayung Restaurant or via room service were superb.

My husband and I stayed at Ayung Resort Ubud for 3 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. We had booked a Valley Pool Villa, but were kindly upgraded to a Royal Rainforest Villa, which was a lovely surprise. The villa was extremely spacious, making us feel tiny. The swimming pool and gardens were immaculately maintained. We used the outdoor pool daily and spent most of our time at the resort, visiting the restaurant three nights in a row. We also tried the complimentary afternoon tea service twice, which was a nice touch because we never experience that in the U.S. The restaurant server, Gosenadi, told us that the chef, a Ubud native, had won a cooking competition in Singapore. It makes sense because his food was way better than what we normally get from a lot of restaurants in U.S. We mainly tried Balinese cuisine, and my husband enjoyed the barbecue pork ribs recommended by Gosenadi and Adreani. I loved the beetroot salad, and the fresh vegetables, which my husband, who grew up on a farm, also praised. Gosenadi informed us that all produce served at Ayung was locally grown. We used the spa, which was reasonably priced and staffed by professional and kind therapists. After our long flights from Chicago (took two days to get there), we needed a relaxation massage. Our room had excellent WiFi, allowing me to work on my laptop without issues. We loved the staff at Ayung Resort the most; they were always smiling and accommodating. We felt treated like royalty.

Stay here if you want a relaxing visit near Ubud. Takes an hour and half from the airport and 30ish minutes from the center of Ubud without traffic. The grounds are beautiful. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, ordered a la carte. I had dinner onsite and ordered room service as well. Both meals were delicious and the presentation was beautiful. They offer complimentary tea and small bites in the afternoon. That was enjoyable. I stayed in a room overlooking the smaller pool. The room was basic, but had everything I needed. The only negative was that my room was near the housekeeper room and I could hear them go and out often but I was rarely in my room. I would highly recommend this place and come back and stay in their villas.

This is the most beautiful setting imaginable! The view of the jungle rain Forrest from our room balcony was breathtaking with the sounds of birds, crickets and other wildlife. The art, service, room, were all of the highest quality! Be aware that the pathways between reception and restaurant and room are very steep. The hotel is very happy to take you from place to place via golf carts, though. The nature of this setting is remote, so there is not other restaurants within walking distance. The hotel has a shuttle to town. It is truly a jewel for a remote but luxurious getaway. We will be back and stay longer!

I couldn't believe how beautiful the resort was. The bungalows provide a treetop view that was breathtaking every morning. Like waking up in the sky. When you get behind the gated resort its like another world and the staff were so nice, on time and available for anything you asked for it was like we paid for butler service. Eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the sky overlooking a view that should have cost way more than we were charged never got old. After a night stay i was ready to go home because we missed our daughter but upon leaving me and my husband were both happy and sad. Happy because God allowed us to travel and experience such beauty on this earth and sad because we were not going to wake up to the peace, beauty, and natural sounds of nature we had come to enjoy.

This place is an absolute treasure! Do not leave without experiencing the Ultimate Retreat Package at the Dewi Sri day spa! After two years, I returned, and all my expectations were exceeded. So much so that I had to force myself to leave the resort to head into the city centre to buy a few gifts. I love every single thing about this resort - in particular the people and the setting. This is a place, where you simply must put your phone down and take in your surroundings, let them wash over you, soak in them, engage with the beautiful staff, watch and listen to the wildlife, really taste the magnificent flavours of the dishes served. If you do this, you will return home renewed, refreshed and ready for anything! This is a place that will steal your heart with beautiful traditional Balinese hospitality and its jungle setting. You will see the most phenomenal array of plant species, and if you put your phone down, you will experience such an incredible range of different coloured butterflies, carpenter bees, exotically coloured dragonflies, exotic (for us) flying lizards on the palm trees as you eat your breakfast, endangered long-tailed Macaque monkeys (pls don't feed), squirrels, etc. If you are concerned about all the delectable food they serve (breakfast and afternoon tea was included in my package) then there are complimentary yoga classes, a gym, 2 pools, and lots of breathtaking walks.

This hotel is absolutely worth recommending. You find one of rhe best view overlooking the lush forest. Our room was just a few steps from the swimming pool, and the friendliest staff are always ready to assist you—for example, if you’d like a ride from your beautiful room to the restaurant. The resort features stunning decorations and an abundance of flowers around all the buildings. The restaurant is excellent, offering a great selection of à la carte dishes for both breakfast and dinner. There are plenty of activities you can sign up for at the hotel, with transportation provided/ pick up at hotel, as well as access to private guided day tours—remarkably affordable when converted to Danish kroner. A must-experience for 4-5 days when visiting Bali before heading to a beachside hotel. We visited during the rainy season, which turned out to be no issue at all.
