If you have a room facing Burrard, be prepared to listen to fire truck sirens all night long. The restaurant isn’t open all day especially at check in time which is 4:00. I ordered the cheese plate from room service and got 3 pieces of cheese and characters for $22. The room was clean and comfortable. I do like it a little cooler than 18.5C while I sleep and that’s the lowest the thermostat can go. The $40 upgrade covered the buffet breakfast that wasn’t anything special but was adequate. Jacuzzi was hotter than most which I loved.

Check in time was 4pm. We arrived at 3:45 and our room wasn't ready. The clerk said she would phone my cell when the room was ready, at 5:10 I went back to the desk and was told my room was ready. However no phone call so we don't know when the room was actually ready. When I made the reservations I was going to be getting a room on the 14th floor, she told me my room was on the 5th floor, when I told her about what I was expecting, she laughed! I was very disappointed, and will not return to this hotel in the future!

I recently spent two days at this hotel in downtown Vancouver as I was traveling there for work. The hotel is beautiful and the location is very walkable. My room was comfortable and quiet. The staff are also very friendly. As a Expedia Gold member I was eligible for a room upgrade and spa credit. I enjoyed a massage and facial at the spa. However the spa would not honour my credit, claiming they were not connected to the hotel. I had to address this with the hotel front desk at check out who reluctantly reduced my room cost (after charging me tax on the unreduced amount such that my credit was only $37). It is a small amount considering I paid nearly $1,000 for two nights, and it was embarrassing that I had to “haggle” with the staff about this amount. Unfortunately as there was a concert in Vancouver the first night the costs skyrocketed such that I was charged more than double the regular rate for my first night. In total the cost for two nights was just under $1,000. I also was not able to communicate with the hotel through the Expedia app as they did not respond to my messages. They did respond to emails sent to the hotel email however. I did not eat at the restaurant as I am vegetarian and it is an oyster bar and does not have any plant based options. It did look beautiful however.

Upon checking in, I asked if my room is available for an extra night. I was told yes. Then I was told to book it online, like I did with my current one, to ensure continuity. I did so. Then, as advised I stopped by the front desk to inform them I booked an extra night, as advised. Now, I am being told I have to change rooms and they have no idea which floor I’d be on. That is AWFUL customer service. For someone who stayed here dozens of times. Very disappointing.
