Wonderful staff, welcoming, friendly, terrific location, breakfast was delicious. Home was charming and historic. There is some parking in the back and on the street out front so no issues there. Walkable to Fisherman's Wharf. As with most older heritage homes the layout will be a bit more unique (toilet and shower/bath are in separate room) and this is common for more older European hotels. We had everything we needed. Thank you to all the lovely staff for making it a warm and comforting stay!

Quaint Victorian style rooms and friendly staff in quiet neighborhood only a few blocks from waterfront, Parliament, and BC museum. Breakfast was excellent, starting with a fresh berry nut muffin and yummy choices of pancakes, Eggs Benedict or Florentine, or bagel with fixings. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Bed was very comfortable, with a range of pillow styles to choose from. Convenient location for main tourist sites.

Marketa's met all our needs!

Marketa's was a super cute old house that was comfortable and cozy. We stayed in the honeymoon suite, which had a fun jacuzzi style tub in the room. The breakfast was delicious, and the host very friendly and helpful. The house's location was very close to the Clipper terminal, which was convenient for us. Overall, we had a great stay!

We loved everything about our stay at Marketa's. She answered the phone immediately when we called twice to discuss our planned check in time. She greeted us warmly when we arrived and took time to show us all around the house. The house is very charming, as the furniture, colors, and wallpaper stay true to the 1912 decor the house might have had originally. The jetted hot tub in our room, was, of course, a modern addition. The newer fireplace kept us perfectly warm on a chilly night, and the bed was very comfortable It is in a cute neighborhood near the inner harbor, and only a short walk away from coffee shops (like the Bird Cage) bakeries, restaurants and other historical homes. The two women who cook and serve breakfast in the dining room were very accommodating and gracious. We ordered from a menu with 4 or 5 choices on on it and loved the fruit covered pancakes and eggs Benedict. We were a bit embarrassed visiting beautiful Canada, given our president's current hostile treatment of our friendly neighbors, but we met very kind, friendly welcoming Canadians throughout Victoria and at Marketa's place. We'd love to come back soon. Thank you to all !

Marketa's is so beautiful. The room design feels special and it obvious she loves having people enjoy their time here. She was very helpful and sweet. The bed was so comfy and the tub was absolutely luxurious, especially with the bubble bath included. I am so happy to stay here :)

This was our third stay at Marketa’s and we were greeted so warmly! Check in was easy and parking in the back. The breakfast was perfect and the girls made us again feel so welcome. Only issue for me was the shower head needs replacing as the water coming out was restricted. Otherwise a charming place to stay in James Bay😀

What I loved about this property was its uniqueness. It is very different to a normal hotel, much more of a BnB vibe, which is what it's classed as. What sold me on choosing this hotel was the pictures of the rooms, and let me tell you, they don't disappoint in person! We were very pleased with the all the rooms we saw, as well as the one we stayed in. It had a Jacuzzi in it too which was a happy surprise. The breakfast was really good in the morning as well. They have a few people come and cook for you, as you choose from a small menu. We had the pancakes, which were delicious! Three small downsides that I noted: 1) There were about 5 spots to park in the back of the house and it was very tight even with a compact car. Not too bad as there's parking on the street if needed, but you may walk a ways. 2) The house, while very charming being built in early 1900s, creaks like crazy! It honestly wasn't too bad but when we were trying to sleep it was noticeable. 3) The shower gets HOT, like SCALDING HOT, so be very careful. All in all, a very fun experience. And Marketa, the owner, greeted us when we first got there and said goodbye when we left. Would stay here again and recommend it to you for a unique and memorable BnB experience.
