Only complaint was check in call was 10 minutes past advertised time of 4 pm. Loved that we stayed in a historic "tavern" right in the middle of historic Main Street. We were immersed in history for 4 days, truly amazing!

This was a very special stay in the heart of historic Colonial Williamsburg. The room was very clean, bathroom was renovated and perfect. We loved the sheep in the side yard and the ease of just walking across the street to Duke of Gloucester street with the taverns. We loved it and will definitely do again!

Greatest amenity is that you are right in the middle of the historic district. Waking up there is wonderful despite early mowing and leaf blowing (so that it’s not done during open hours to preserve historic experience). Being able to park there.

We stayed in one of the tavern rooms. While small, they are adequately sized for two people. Shower is small because it has to follow slope of the roof to maintain original look. That being said, the room had modern plumbing and electrical and a television. It was really cool to stay in a historical tavern inn and to be on the main street of the colonial buildings inside the historical area.

The location couldn’t be beat. Walk out the door and you’re in the middle of colonial Williamsburg. The room while sufficient did not feel very private. You could hear every door close and person walking on the stairs. Parking was easy. I will definitely go back but probably pick a different style room.

It was a very cute room. Very historic. There were ants all over however. But the location was the best. If you are looking for a quiet retreat the Market Square Tavern rooms are not for you. The cannon goes off a lot and drum and fife play frequently. But you can walk everywhere from it.

I love staying in the Colonial Houses every year. Just one quibble with my lovely Market Tavern upstairs room. The door opens onto the first step. You climb up a couple of steps to be able to turn around and close the door behind you. And you have to lean WAY OVER to reach the handle, and the deadbolt is inside the handle. Really very awkward. Maybe they should move up the handle.
