I wanted a place to stay which was located close to the most iconic Moorean surf break, Haapiti. Moorea Surf Inn is family owned and has a charming vibe. Tama runs the show and was a very considerate host and surf guide. The place is right on the lagoon foreshore. Stand up paddle boards and kayaks are available free and provide a great way to cruise the lagoon, dropping in for a snorkel when you feel like it. The backdrop of rugged mountains is spectacular. Accommodation is simple but clean with shared bathrooms. A great place to wind down and relax (or go hard with activities) if you don't need all the accompaniments of a big hotel.

We only stayed 8 hours as had fly out this is perfect to stay before flying out

We had a very spacious double Tahitian Home room at the rear of the building with views to the green hills and townsite. It was very quiet. King bed was extremely comfortable. Great little kitchen with basic utensils. Location is very handy to the cruise terminal and across the road from the ferry terminal. Restaurants and shops are almost at the doorstep.

Needs umbrellas for the lounges on the beach as there is no shade there. Also service was slow at the restaurant even when there we just a couple of customers there. Otherwise nice place to stay. Pleasant staff clean.
