Love the hotel. Only thing is the room service…. I called up at 10.04pm only to be told room service from the menu stops at 10pm, when it’s advertised at 11m. Very disappointed as has to order pizzas which wasn’t what we wanted and weren’t all that. Apart from that the hotel is wonderful…

The Grand Hotel Amrath Amsterdam was the coolest place! Very old & just what we were hoping for in Amsterdam. Old, charming & fun. Very high ceilings in rooms. Staff was great. We could walk all over the city. If we ever return to Amsterdam, we would definitely stay here again.

Had a problem with the safe, entire safe was replaced in 20 minutes, however little inconvenient as we needed to go out. Chose the green option to not have room cleaned so had complimentary drink, drink limited to small beer or house wine, not a great incentive and the service from the 2 male staff in the bar/restaurant not too friendly We chose this hotel as it has a pool, jacuzzi and steam room but the jacuzzi and steam room out of order, only the saunas working, so a bit disappointing as lots of other hotels nearby and possibly cheaper Other than that great location, friendly front of house staff and technicians. Lovely mini break
