I booked the Royal Hotel for a weekend stay for my birthday. I used wotif for the original one night but called the hotel prior to the date to book an extra night so i was staying friday and saturday night. The manager i spoke to over the phone took my details and advise upon check in ill need to pay for the extra night.
However when i went to check in they only had me checked in for the one night. The man at front desk said he ask the Assistant Manager and started serving other customers i was waiting 10 mins. Eventally a lady came over and said she wasnt sure if they had avaliability for second night. Upon further checking the notes she saw the Manager had a note that i was staying extra night. They gave me the key card but no drink card -They said i wasnt eligible as i booked through wotif although i said i called them directly. They gave us the disabled room with open shower i guess this is the only room they had avaliable. The room had no table or proper chairs they had tree stumps as bedside tables. Defintely not worth the money. As there was open shower the water would flood the bathroom causing OHS risk .The windows were not sound proof and we could hear the cars and there was a loud pipe sound that came on every half an hour. I had to go down to reception to get the hairdryer. On the saturday they cancelled our keycard as they didnt communicate re second night. It was very poor communication. I would not recommend!
