We got a warm welcome and an upgrade which was a nice surprise. The motel is spacious and generally tidy, decor is dated but the price reflects this and is good value for money.

Easy to find on the main road into New Plymouth. Was an older motel and the room I was in smelled musty.

When my friend checked in he was given keys to unit that didn’t work, he was then given a second key that also didn’t work. A man finally came down with a big bunch of keys which he had to sort through to find the right one. On entering the unit it was dirty. The TV didn’t work so a man bought him down another TV. Then while he was getting the TV going my friend turned a light on in the bedroom and on doing so it started to spark. Finally the man said he would put him in a different unit. I don’t believe the first unit he tried to put my friend in was even the one that I had booked. In fact nobody should ever be put in this unit. It was dirty and totally unsatisfactory. Very disappointed. Thankfully the second unit was more up to expectation

Place was very run down looking. Could do with refurbishing. Floors needed cleaning. Curtain in lounge ripped. Some electrical fittings were not working properly, although some things were fixed when it was bought to the notice of staff.
