Child friendly Ngamotu beach and playground just a 5 min drive, the stunning Paritutu rock is an easy climb for the able and for the surfers Back Beach is only another 2 mins away.
A highly recommended short steep climb up Mt Paritutu gives a spectacular view of the city and surrounding coast as well as an unobstructed view of
Mt Taranaki, Pouakai range and North Egmont walks and treks are only 30 mins away.

The arrival instructions were very clear and easy to understand.There was an ample supply of tea and coffee available and multiple coffee options (plunger, packaged cappuccino and instant etc.)We had all the utensils we needed in the kitchen and the pantry had all the essentials like baking paper, kitchen towels and glad-wrap.WIFI was easy to set up and use with clear information supplied in the pack. We didn’t need to use the air conditioning, but noted that clear instructions were provided on how to use that (along with all other appliances).There was ample tourist information available inside the property as well.We did get to meet our host, Wendy, on the day of our departure and she was a lovely lady.The off-street parking is very handy and the location is close to amenities.There was quite a collection of books, DVDs and games, in the event you needed to stay in and keep yourself amused. The TV also supported Chromecast.There were even a couple of pairs of reading glasses available, should the need arise!We had an excellent stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to others.

Quirky and comfortable house with everything you need

We enjoyed staying in this characterful house for a weekend in New Plymouth. Lovely and warm (good heating!), spotlessly clean and well-equipped. We particularly appreciated tea, coffee & milk provided for us plus lots of handy extras. The front bedroom room gets a bit of noise from the main road (although the house is on a quiet street), but back bedroom was v quiet. Outside courtyard and table would be perfect in summer. We enjoyed a hot soak at thermal spa across the road - perfect for unwinding after a busy week. Would happily stay here again.

Our young kids loved the toys and books, the location was fantastic, the home was clean, we appreciated the blackout curtains in the bedrooms, everything worked as expected, we had everything we needed, and there was a surprise massage chair! This felt like a home, not a sterile location. Peter & Wendy were very accommodating, good communicators.We would happily return - I'm sad we forgot to sign the guest book!

Perfect family stay

A great location to access New Plymouth and the region. The house was perfect for our family to be able to relax, have our own spaces, but also enjoy being together. Great to be able to cook a meal, play with the toys, and easily get into town. Good comms from the host. Our second time at this property and would stay again! Thanks.

Great stay!

Fantastic little home in a great location. So close to town and all the activities we did. The house itself was clean and tidy. Toys and books for the kids was great. Perfect for a family. Only downfall was the sofa-bed was not comfortable at all and we couldn’t use it. We would stay again if visiting New Plymouth.

We really loved our stay here. It had everything we needed plus some lovely seasonal extra touches which we really appreciated like a wee Christmas tree and some Christmassy toys for the kids. Great location with a short drive to the beach, Paritutu and town, and 15 minutes walk to the new playground at Kāwaroa. Our kids also enjoyed the playgrounds and bike/scooter tracks at the schools across the road. Comfy beds, nice courtyard area, and we also loved the hanging chair and the massage chair. Highly recommend.

Cosy bach in New Plymouth

Had everything we needed. Daughter loved the massage chair after each competition day. Heat pump and fan system keep us warn on the chilly mornings.
