Charming

The service at the front desk and at Mille-feuille Bakery was very pleasant. The half-bottle of wine in the room was well received. It was nice to hear live jazz in the lounge, although I did not stay. I appreciated experiencing the extended life to a charming, historic building. With cold temperatures outside, it would have been more comfortable inside Mille-feuille had the direct doors to the street been locked with patrons entering through the hotel lobby.

I’ve lived in Manhattan all of my life and the upper west side is an amazing neighborhood. A stones throw away from Times Square, a quick subway ride to the West Village and Soho-steps away from Central Park & Riverside park(pharmacy & walk in health clinics on the corner)- The rooms were very clean. Staff was extremely friendly. I forgot a very valuable diamond ring and gold bracelet in the safe with a lot of cash and the front desk was quick to call me to let me know I had left it behind. You don’t find that kind of honesty everywhere. I was very impressed with this hotel.

My daughter and I enjoyed our two night stay at Hotel Belleclaire! The hotel is very convenient to the subway and we love the upper west side vibe. The doorman was very personable and we were greeted every time we entered the hotel. The beds were extremely comfortable and our King Deluxe room was clean and ready when we arrived. The cafe next door was always very busy and we didn’t use the vouchers provided. It was a nice amenity that we will definitely use next time. Overall a great stay and we enjoyed our time at the Hotel Belleclaire!

Wonderful staff, clean rooms-was able to get an electric kettle for tea, and a refrigerator(upon request). The restaurant doesn’t have many vegetarian options, but there is an excellent café/bakery attached to the hotel where they have delicious options… Be careful if you’re on a diet! The cleaning stuff was extremely trustworthy and very pleasant. As a native New Yorker, I highly suggest this place. A pharmacy on the corner, A LOT of shopping. Love my five day stay

A gem of an hotel

This hotel was lovely, it was warm and friendly, not words you would use for most NYC hotels. Our room was at the back of the hotel, overlooking backyards, which at first did not seem great, but who spends time looking out of windows in NYC, but the peace and quiet of the room made up for any deficiencies in regards to the view. The Patisserie on the ground floor had plenty of selection for breakfast, and the coffee was very good. The wine hour, was an added bonus, appetizers were also available. Most hotels have stopped this event, so it was lovely to be able to mingle with fellow guests. I really didn't want to praise this hotel too much, as I selfishly don't want it to be fully booked next time I'm in NYC, but it does deserve a 5 star review.

I would have given 5 stars. It was historic, glamorous and super clean. The staff were friendly and fantastic. Water pressure in shower was best I've ever had in a hotel. However--weird problem. I could not figure out how to turn the lights off next to the beds. I tried every switch in the room. Examined the lights. Could not figure it out. I called downstairs and they said they'd send someone, but never did. It's not a huge problem, but if you like to sleep in the dark, it is. So I ended up unscrewing the lightbulbs for the one night I was there, then screwed them back in in the morning. That was a travel first. Anyway, otherwise fantastic property, would probably return.
