At peak times, especially breakfast, the elevator is a nightmare! Took as 25mins to get down to the lobby one morning. The staff was great, nothing they could do to fix it, but just plan accordingly.

The concierge service was excellent. Housekeeping left a note indicating we would only receive room service, same day, if we requested it (due to our “do not disturb” sign. Later, the sign was taken down, but housekeeping repeatedly tried to enter the room without having been called. The location of the hotel is great, very close to Times Square. The Grab’n Go sandwiches we purchased downstairs were all stale.

Great place to stay. Easy to check in and check out. Located near Times Square which is very convenient if you’re doing your activities near there. Staff were helpful and polite and called our room to see if we were enjoying our stay. The room we had was spacious and neat and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was really nice as well, but there is no fan. To get WiFi you had to do some additional steps which wasn’t too hard but still a little inconvenient and it stopped working for my phone a day and a half before our stay was over while my other family’s WiFi was fine. We were busy everyday so I never got the chance to ask staff why it stopped. Overall, our stay at Hotel Riu Manhattan Times Square was wonderful and I would definitely stay here again when I visit New York.

This is our first stay here and have booked it again for when we return. Room was decent size, modern, comfortable, and clean. Breakast was a very well run buffet service, and was reasonably priced for NYC. Lobby was also very well kept and staff were friendly. Easy walk to the MOMA and Broadway shows.

We loved almost everything about this property. It is clear that they pride themselves on cleanliness, which is incredibly important to me! The location is right in the heart of Time Square, however, it was quiet in our room - which had an amazing view! The one and only complaint is that there isn't a coffee option in the room. When we arrived, I called to see if I could have a coffee machine brought to the room and was told they "don't do that." For me, a mom traveling with children who loves her coffee, this made mornings much more challenging. I had to hop out of bed and immediately get dressed to take a elevator downstairs (which takes a while because it's a tall building with three elevators) run across the street to Dunkin Donuts, because the in house coffee shop doesn't open until 7, then make my way back up the elevators. This was about a 20 minute ordeal each morning. Sounds silly, but because this is how I had to start each day, I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

Great stay

I stayed one night at the Hotel Riu Plaza Manhattan Times Square after going to see a Broadway show. The location was perfect and just a 5 minute walk to the theater. From checking in to checking out, every member of the staff was kind and personable. My room was clean and had a beautiful view of the city on the 48th floor. I felt very comfortable as a woman staying here alone. The breakfast was nice, but the line to get to the 5th floor restaurant took 20 minutes and I was seated faster because I was a party of 1. I would recommend heading to breakfast before 9am if you don’t want to wait. I would absolutely stay here again
