I would not recommend this hotel, especially if you are traveling with family — absolutely not. The neighborhood is unsafe. There is a smell of marijuana everywhere: at the entrance, in the elevator, in the hallways, and even in the room.
It’s quite noisy at night. I believe it’s unsafe to walk from the subway to the hotel at night. During the day it’s still okay, but in the evening — no. There is a lot of drug activity in the area.
Transportation is relatively convenient. It takes about an hour to get to Manhattan. However, on Saturdays and Sundays there are often subway line repairs, and then you have to take a bus. That turns into a nightmare — the trip can take up to two hours.
The whole area around the hotel is not a good neighborhood. Maybe it could be acceptable if you are a solo male traveler staying just one night, mainly because the price is very attractive. But if you are planning to stay for several days, I would not recommend it.
