The Ellery was very quaint, the staff was polite and the atmosphere was cozy. We were a little surprised that no staff remain on the premises after 8 pm. There is a number to call for an emergency. We booked through Expedia and were given a single rate fee so were quite surprised to see each night varied in rate. No two nights were the same. While the cost was not unreasonable, it was surprising that we were not made aware until after check out. Wed, Mar 5 146.70 Thu, Mar 6 152.10 Fri, Mar 7 180.90 Sat, Mar 8 228.60 Sitting by the fire reading was a great place to be when we weren't involved in other activities. There are many excellent restaurants nearby. Roberto's and Fitzwilly's were favorites. We would recommend The Ellery to others for short visits.

The Ellery is my favorite place to stay when I visit Northampton. They're in a great location and the staff are friendly and accommodating. I also appreciate the snacks left out throughout the day/evening as well as the continental breakfast options.

Clean and beautiful and great breakfast choices. Will say that I noticed its not very accessible for wheelchair users, but I do understand that in an area of older buildings, there may not be ways to make them accessible. But I figured it would be useful to know for potential guests.

This place is quite the gem. The rooms are set up motel style with entrances to the outside. We did not know that going in, but the rooms were very clean and well styled and appointed. Beds were very comfy. The common area has a kitchen with some snacks and coffee and tea readily available all the time. There’s a living area with fireplace and multiple tables. The breakfast was served with a cozy fire ablaze. The staff was superior, very gracious and welcoming. Overall an excellent experience and pleasant surprise. Perfect for a little family reunion.

We had a lovely stay. The staff was very friendly, the light continental breakfast was excellent and the location can’t be beat. The hotel has been renovated and our room was on the second floor. The rooms are not very well sound proofed and we’re able to hear noises and conversations in the hallway. With ear plugs, this wasn’t a problem for sleeping and the other guests were conscientious of quiet hours. Would recommend!

Loved our stay at the Ellery in Feb 2025. Though the snow was piled high, the staff was there to make sure we had breakfast and a fire going in the lobby to beat the heat. Great location for Northampton. Could’ve walked to town if not for the snow. Will likely stay again if I ever travel through. The staff was wonderful and took excellent care of us!

The fireplace is amazing and breakfast was exceptional, too. Staff was very nice. The doors were like hollow - You could hear people closing and opening doors and walking even though people were respectful and quiet it was very loud.
