Hotel lobby is undergoing renovation but rooms have been updated. Nice rooms but small - just fine as a place to sleep and keep your stuff. Bathroom is small but functional, nice tiled shower enclosure. Location is great - a stone's throw from City Hall/Market Square and the Avon Theatre, one block from Ontario (main) Street shops. On-site parking is very limited and costs $20 per day. Tip: if mobility is not an issue (and the weather is good) there is a huge, free parking lot a five minute walk away.

Stayed here for two nights and everything was great. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and nice to sleep in. The room that I was in had some wifi connection issues but otherwise the room and everything we needed. Location is great for walking to many different stores and restaurants. I will definitely stay here again when I travel to Stratford.

It was a convenient location. Room was a decent size with a basic bathroom on suite. Airconditioning was good. Bare minimum in terms of essentials. No tissue paper. shampoo and shower gel dispensers were difficult to use.. to extract contents. door to room often stuck and was difficult to open. Internet was very poor and slow. TV didn't work because of slow internet.

Large room, tiny bathroom. Very clean and comfortable, air conditioner was extremely loud. There is no restaurant or bar in hotel like website shows. Parking is an issue

Good location, poor amenities

Pro: location. Downtown; walking distance to the Avon theatre and to restaurants and stores. Nice, friendly staff. Wifi incuded. A pretty nice (altho cheap) renovation. Cons: very small "junior suite" that should have been a room. Poorly supplied room (low-quality "mystery soap" for hands, hair and body, no tub mat even tho we were warned to use it coz the tub was slippery, no facial tissues in the room. I accidentally broke the shower gel dispenser coz it didnt work). Very limited parking for $20/night. No parking available for us. We meter-parked to grab a quick lunch before our matinée, and got a $40 ticket. The limit on the meters is 30 minutes. The blue jays game was not available on the tv.

The room was clean and the building has lots of historic character. The washroom was tiny. There is a weird thing with the code for the front door of the hotel. Apparently the door is locked at night and you need to enter a code into a keypad to get to the lobby. The instructions we got when we checked in made it sound like it was to be locked before we got back from the theatre. When we returned, we tugged on the door, but as expected it wouldn’t open and there didn’t appear to be a keypad. There was no one at the front desk and we spent a while wandering around looking for another way in. Turns out the right side of the double doors was unlocked (no sign or way to signal for help) we just tried the wrong side, and based on the info we received at check-in, believed we were locked out. The keypad is on a second door inside the double doors, but it was propped open, so we couldn’t see it. We had to call them on the phone a few times before it was all sorted out. There is limited parking, so if you need it, be sure to specify when you book. If you can’t climb stairs, be sure to tell them that when you book too, as lots of rooms are only accessible by stairs. When it comes to the elevator, it looks to be fairly newly updated, but there’s no audible signals for people who are blind or have low vision. Front desk staff won’t recognize you if you leave and come back an hour later.

IIt's an old hotel that has been recently renovated. The décor is charming, and the staff is very friendly. However, we had rust in the water for quite some time, and the water was very soft and slightly slimy. I liked the wooden floors and the property's general "oldness," but the bathroom sink had two separate faucets for hot and cold. The hot water was boiling hot and had rust in it. There was no way to mix the hot and cold water to make it comfortable for washing your hands or face. I know it's just the style of the faucets, but it was strange.

Perfect location for visiting Stratford. The bed is comfortable and the room is clean. The bathroom is extremely small. However, the hotel is charmless. The paint is chipped, no pictures on the walls. For a charming town like Stratford, I expected a more cozy, interesting environment.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and clean I had booked and payed for 2 king suites. When we arrived , we were checked into one king suite and one king room. This was disappointing! When I googled this property before booking, it was advertised as having a bar and a restaurant on the premises. We booked looking forward to using these amenities. Unfortunately, there was no restaurant or bar on site.

Red flags everywhere. Very poorly kept property, room had musty odour, multiple broken or damaged things, and mystery stains. The last straw was the pubic hair on the toilet. I checked out within minutes of entering and a week later I’m still chasing for a refund. I booked months in advance and it was not cheap. When I trying to find new accommodation I saw the price was half of what I paid and it was opening week for the festival so they should have been at capacity but with the state of the hotel I can see why it was deserted. Avoid this place at all costs.

We had issues during our stay and in addition there was a problem with the rate we were charged. We were charged $1892 for 5 nights through Expedia. I happened to browse through the hotels website and saw that our room (the Windsor Suite) daily rate was around $215 but we paid $322 through your site. The hotel staff agreed it did not match their figures but said we had to contact you. I see by your notation above you have us there on May 24 but we were not booked in until May 25. Perhaps the discrepancy is because we were charged for an extra night? Normally Expedia rates are lower than the hotels but ours were much higher and even a mystery to the hotel staff. I hope you will correct this discrepancy- it certainly seems highly irregular. Secondly, the issues mainly concerned housekeeping services. Housekeeping came late most days and were inexperienced. They seemed to need our direction. One day we had no housekeeping service at all. Signage for the coffee machine with directions would be very helpful as it was unpredictable in how it worked. Signage about changing towels, etc. would also have been helpful. Probably housekeeping staff numbers were inadequate. There seemed to be one person only working from 9 to 4. We gave feedback to the hotel management about our housekeeping issues and their response is it will improve. The individual staff were pleasant and tried to respond. We paid an exorbitant rate for a nice room but the amenities were lacking. Gail Schnabl
