For such a wow property the room was only attended to once in five days. This meant we had to pick towels up off the floor to reuse them for the third day. This was a little disappointing for a five-star suite at a self-claimed ‘premium’ hotel.

I stayed for 5 nights in a superior room. From the moment I walked, I was greeted by a wonderful concierge by the name of Amir, what a delightful person. Courteous and polite. Breakfast at Harvest Buffet was fabulous. Deepak was the perfect host. A huge thank you to all staff at the Star, from the concierge, housekeeping and restaurant staff, my stay was amazing. Rooms are spacious, clean and I was lucky enough to have a room with a view. The bed was super comfy and the pillows were divine. Best hotel to stay at if you’re travelling to Sydney. The wonderful and very charming receptionist called Vivian (I think) who checked us in, most graciously upgraded us to a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment overlooking Darling Harbour. We were so amazed at this extremely generous gesture and had the best night possible staying at the hotel. We will definitely be returning. I highly commend your excellent employee. The check in process was exactly that. A process. There was only 1 staff member checking people into the hotel so we had to wait approx. 20mins for our turn only to be told that our room wasn't ready and a SMS would be sent when it was ready. We received the SMS after check in time at 3.15pm. Yes, it may only be 15mins in your mind, however this room wasn't cheap and we wanted to optimize the experience and room. Once the room was ready we then had to wait another 20min in line, with only 1 staff member checking people in to finally be given the details to our room. Long queues and long wait times were frustrating.
