Great affordable spot for our family of 4 (8mo + 2.5yo kids) during the summer month. We stayed in a family room with two bunk beds, though we didn't used the top bunks and has to co-sleep with our little ones. The highlight is the location. Smackbam in the heart of Queenstown! Staff are friendly and check-in process was smooth. The cons being the noise - bars nearby played loud music til about 11pm. And the communal kitchen - too small to accommodate the size of the hostel.

The room itself was fine, quite small but that wasn't an issue. Fridge and kettle was a nice touch. The main issue was the noise, the hostel is centrally located next to bars which play very loud live music up to 12am and then the street noise continues into the early hours. Over the few nights we were there we got very limited sleep, ear plugs did very little to prevent the vibrations and noise. Credit to the staff, when we mentioned this they found us a quieter room howver this was still very noisy.

We reserved the private room for 3 and it was fantastic. Property is located in the middle of everything! The kitchen is well equipped and very nice although a bit crowded at times. Laundry was the most expensive we found in our travels but we were in the heart of Queenstown so I guess that should be expected.

Room was cosy and clean, a good size for my needs. Hostel is located near the waterfront, with easy access to pkenty of eating options and activities. Area can get noisy into the late hours due to proximity to bars and restaurants, especially at weekends. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Staff was great, very friendly and helpful. Room was fine, the bedding could use a bit of an update. (maybe better laundry?) Kitchen was well stocked and people were friendly--especially to two boomer age women!

Nice location very near intercity bus. Accessible to go bus in coronet peak and shops plus restaurant. Clean room though I give 3 stars as I don’t expect no toiletries we only have one toilet paper which been used before coz u will noticed its not new. Next day they top up soap and tissue only which is good. Kitchen has a good view.

What a great surprise!

My 22-year-old daughter gets full credit for encouraging us to stay at this hostel. Since I remember hostels from the late 80s/early 90s, you can imagine my surprise to find something that was so similar to an actual hotel. (We had a private room with our own bathroom for the three of us, though the showers were across the hall and my husband liked the shower pressure better over there.) The location cannot be beat! I should really put that in all caps. Truly, the location is in the heart of everything, it is very safe, and we could not have been more pleased with our decision to stay there!! (Actually, it was our daughter's decision, but we're glad we played along!) We stayed on the first floor, but the ground floor had a lounge where people could hang out, and the second floor had a kitchen area where you could get free coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. There is a laundry facility right next-door, in case you need it. Again, everything was very clean. And I should note that my husband was very pleased after his first night's sleep there, because he said it was the best sleep he had in the 10 days we have been in New Zealand. (I also turned on a noise cancellation app that night. It is a bustling city after all. )

Can't beat the location, everything is literally in walking distance with the only need for a hire car for roaming, all the shuttles are the next street over for most activities and tours. We cracked it with free parking aswell which was close to accommodation. And views from the shared kitchen area are breathtaking. Clean accommodation, staff friendly with lots of advice.

Central e barato, mas não tão confortável

Se você é jovem, dorme tarde e dorme em quaisquer condições, talvez aqui funcione para você. Eu durmo cedo e foi bastante difícil dormir lá porque fiquei em um quarto no primeiro andar que ficava em frente à orla, com muito barulho dos bares e restaurantes ao redor até de madrugada. Precisei dormir de fone de ouvido na sexta e no sábado, o que foi bastante desconfortável. O banheiro privado é bem pequeno. A pia e o chuveiro são bem baixos. Apesar disso, os funcionários são bem solícitos, a cozinha coletiva é bem organizada, você pode deixar seus itens separados tanto em geladeira quanto em prateleiras. O hostel é absurdamente central e você consegue fazer tudo andando. Sendo assim, é mais interessante para quem NÃO está de carro, uma vez que o hostel fica no centro e é extremamente difícil estacionar em Queenstown. Fui em baixa temporada (abril) e já era péssimo. Imagino como fica pior para estacionar em alta temporada. Se estiver de carro, talvez faça mais sentido se hospedar em um local mais afastado do centro, porém maior e mais confortável por preço semelhante. Se estiver sem carro e precisar ficar em local central e barato, o Absoloot é uma boa opção.
