We loved our stay the rooms were very nice, we had a lot of nature surrounding us and just felt so relaxing. The hot pools were great to enjoy in the afternoons as well. We will definitely stay again and next time bring our extended family.

We stay in a cabin which supplied 3 cups, 3 drinking glasses, 3 wine glasses which is great however although there was 3 knives, forks and spoons I just could not get my head around that there were no plates! I asked at the reception and they said because it does not have a kitchenette there is no plates. The shared kitchen had nothing supplied either and I dont recall this was mentioned anywhere when I booked.

We love De Bretts, but the finishing touches were missing this time. We paid $960 for 3 nights, the room wasn't serviced for 3 days, dishwasher liquid not supplied, service requests not followed up. Hot pool renovation is awesome and very cool for kids.

The view of the lake was awesome and when the sky was clear you could see Mt ruapehu from our lodging. The heated floor was a bonus for the winter chill and the beds were nice and soft. Town was down the road and family activities were close by. Was an amazing time for me and my family.

Super convenient location near hot pools. We booked the cheapest cabin (without bathroom). It was perfectly located between reception and the amenities block, so everything was close. The check in staff was friendly and helpful. The room had a fantastic heat pump that kept the room lovely and warm on a cold night. The curtains blocked out the light really well. The only the negative - and the reason I won’t stay again - is because this room had zero sound proofing with the adjoining unit. We could hear word-for-word our neighbour’s phone conversation and TV when we went to bed, and were woken at 5.45am when she spent an hour thudding about 3,000 steps around the room, opening and shutting drawers and doors. Even our drink bottle sitting on the table was rattling when she walked around. I’m a light sleeper and I needed a decent sleep before doing a 3 hour drive, so the lack of soundproofing ruined an otherwise great stay.

Great cabin, clean, warm with good kitchenette and very close to the bathroom. Bathroom was of excellent standard, modern, underfloor heating, very clean.
