Charming property, right on Government Road, which on the weekend get completely shutdown, leaving you parking down the street to unload. Parking area for the hotel is at least a block away. Lots to do on Government St, but was slighty noisy at night.

Not for mobility challenged people.

If you want to see downtown Victoria mostly by foot, it is a great location. Most of the staff were helpful but only a couple were happy to help. My mom rented a scooter for the weekend. The check in staff were extremely nice about it and offered her a place to park and charge in the lobby. It was very difficult to get in and out if the elevator. I was hoping for an “antique” experience. The room was large, clean but oddly shaped. A step up to the washroom, confusing shower bath tap and a difficult to manoeuvre sliding door. The lobby was upstairs. No room service or restaurant. Towels and bedding were nice. I’ve travelled extensively and never have I had an envelope that requested room service tip. I don’t need prompting but maybe others do.

I loved that it was near Inner Harbour and there were so many dining options right outside the hotel. The linens and bathroom were clean and much appreciated. There is coffee and tea in the lobby at all hours, which is nice. The staff was kind and wonderful. The only thing I will say is bring a pair of flip flops with you for the shower/tub, just in case. It looks outdated and a little funky that I didn’t feel comfortable showering barefoot.

It is a pretty worn down hotel and the parking is a pain as it is two blocks away but requires the return of keys to the hotel after you have got your car

Great location, too bad there were no blankets on the bed and the so-called courtyard view was more like a cement bunker roof!

The sink was a little odd and small, but really zero complaints about the room and my stay. You are across from a pub, so if you're a light sleeper, probably best not to take the Premium Room, 1 King Bed, City View. But I sleep pretty soundly and so the noise didn't bother me. The staff were lovely. Highly recommend staying here.

We have stayed at the Bedford on numerous occasions. It's an older hotel that is well kept and charming. The best thing about the Bedford is it's walkability. You are on a pedestrian only street in the heart of Victoria. There are shops, pubs and restaurants literally outside the door. We never pull our car out of parking once we arrive. It's less that 2 blocks from the harbour and the beautiful Empress hotel. If you want to enjoy the charm of Victoria without spending an arm and a leg, this is the spot you want. The only negative is that the beds are older and a bit hard.

It would be nice to have a parking key for the entire stay instead of constantly having to pick it up,drive to parkade that is 2 blocks away and only have 20min to walk back to drop it off at the front desk. Customers with mobility issues will have a nightmare.
