We love our stay in the hotel. My kids super love it. The room is clean and we had a veranda with a nice view of the mountain. We got to enjoy the indoor and outdoor pool, the amazing playground and the underground parking lot. The hotel is very close to downtown which we enjoy night stroll and eating on different food places. The staff are amazing too. We highly recommend this hotel and we will be coming soon.

Cupboards are pretty beat up with roughly patched gouges and scuffs. Hinges have springs that fall out and get lost. Fireplace concrete is cracked and spalled with large chunks missing. Front desk staff is awesomely helpful.

Room was only cleaned once after our first night- but cleaning was only changing sheets, coffee and towels, etc. was not refilled. Rooms need new blankets, the current ones are old, thin, and not comfy. However, staff in the lobby were very friendly!

Couldnt sleep at night as we couldn't breathe well cuz of the heater and heat from the fireplace. We kept the door open for quite sometime but even then the ventilation wasn't good. Overall satisfactory stay. Really liked the fireplace but lot of improvements can be made for the price

Unfortunately the pool staff lady wasn't friendly and was a hassle to go to the hot tub because my check-in information wasn't updated on their paper sheet.

We stayed with our family of seven and had a wonderful experience. Check in was smooth and welcoming, and the front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They even suggested a restaurant right across the street, which turned out to be delicious and so convenient since we could just walk instead of driving. That small touch made a big difference after a long day of travel. The room was comfortable and worked well for our whole family, and the resort itself felt relaxed and family friendly. The hot pools were a perfect way to unwind and enjoy some quiet time together.

We really enjoyed our stay in one of the four-plex units, and we would come again. Things we really liked: 1) They still provide real, wood-burning fireplaces. Their firewood supply was inside their parking garage, so it was warm, dry, not covered in snow, and plentiful. Two thumbs up!! We had a fire each night (winter stay) and loved it. 2) Very helpful front desk staff, who knew the area. Thank-you for great advice and tips about skiing and restaurants. 3) Their waterslides and hot tubs are really nice. There was one evening, though, when the outdoor hot tub was not hot enough. Things we didn't mind, but which other people might: The unit we were in was showing signs of its age. It's still quaint, and we loved it, but the shower diverter only diverted half the water to the shower head while the tub faucet continued to pour. Several cupboard doors didn't close properly. There was a baited mousetrap under the coffee table. Things like that. One negative: 1) The pool area closes at 9pm. Seriously? As a group of adults, coming back after a full day of skiing at Lake Louise, we went out for dinner & drinks in Banff and then came back to Douglas Fir expecting to enjoy an end-of-day soak in the hot tub, only to find that it closed at 9pm every night. Other places I've stayed at close the hot tub to children at that time and remain open for adults until midnight. I highly recommend to Douglas Fir that they consider extending their hours.

This is like third time we stayed here. We love water slides and outside hot tub. And parkade (we always come for ski trip in winter). Rooms and buildings are dated as most of Banff hotels. Bathrooms are clean and updated. If things in kitchen get improved, that would be nice. Like pans, pots and cutlery. Overall we’d come back, if we will stay in Banff area.
