Carroll County accommodation from NZ$149

Room was clean and a nice smell when we entered. Front desk ladies were very friendly as was the shuttle driver.

We had an excellent stay; my family thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Very cool renovated historic hotel. You get the feeling of being in a place rich in history, but with a clean, updated lobby and rooms. Although numerous events were clearly taking place on lower floors (as I could tell from the loads of gift bags at the hotel lobby, the staffed security desks visible when the elevator doors opened on the 9th, 10th, and 11th floors, and the numerous guests on and off the elevators moving between those floors), from where I stayed on the 17th floor it was super-quiet. The elevators themselves are old, and one was a bit shaky, but they were clean and arrived quickly. The room renovations were clearly done in a rush (paint spatter on the bathroom door, visible screw holes where towel bars were moved), but they didn't impact usability and were very minor. The only issues were phone service going in and out when I was in my room, and a shortage of front desk staff at check-in (1 staffer at 4pm on a Friday, a line of 12 waiting guests across the lobby), but for the price, this place is a fantastic value. Will be back!
