Needs TLC and updating

The location of the property is great, and the check in process is easy. When we arrived the unit felt dirty. There was mold on the roof upstairs in numerous places, and the lounge was gross. The carpet is old and tired/ and stained. My kids beds - 2 beds had not been changed from the previous occupier (later told to me by the cleaner) and when turned back were covered in sand and hair! very gross. The is a serious bug problem- there were ants crawling all over the walls upstairs in random places where no food could be seen! and nests of little black spiders- and small black midgy bugs all over around unit. We could feel them landing on us and biting us in sleep. The kitchen bench had been wiped over, but the crockery and cutlery were worse than gross- the previous occupants left dried food over everything and it felt like everything was greasy. There was mould throughout the cutlery draws and even in the bottom of the clean bin! The TV upstairs did not work- batteries dead in control- we replaced them but still didn't work. TV in bedroom is stuffed- the speakers are so distorted from a low volume. I contacted the property manager who got back to me the next day and she arranged a maintenance man and cleaner to come out. They did the best they could, but the apartment needs revamping. We came on holidays and we had to go out shopping for sanitiser, but spray, batteries and Ii had to wash a heap of sheets. I wasn't happy about it. The property manager was easy to deal with, but could definitely see they are meat in the sandwhich. The complex itself was also disappointing- the pool has plastic boards all around the inside of it! it looks terrible and you cut yourself if you brush against the edges. The pool went green after a night of rain and was not able to be used for 2 days while they chemically treated it. During our stay the Tv's could not be fixed, the lounge was not cleaned and the mould and bugs continued. We were very disappointed and voiced this the property manager. We would not stay again at this apartment unless it had some serious changes. It was not comfortable to hang out there as you just felt dirty and had the heeby jeebies from creepy crawlies. The location is fantastic and has the bones to be something better but not there yet.

Best unit in the best spot

Calypso is right in the heart of Cooly with shops and eateries at your door step and the beach just over the road. Will stay again
