Stuff in the room from previous people. Room was not what we paid for. The picture for our room showed 1 large window and one patio door. We got 1 small window. No patio door.

The location cannot be beat for NYC at Christmas time! Also, the staff are so nice and accommodating, and allowed my daughter and I to use the facilities and store luggage before and after checkout with no hassle. On a very cold day, this was such a nice touch.

When we arrived, they did not have a room for us. They did book us a room at a hotel a few doors down. That was convenient. The young man working for the Jewel was apologetic. The room and hotel were not as nice as what we had booked at the jewel. We also had to move an extra time. I was told we would be getting a refund for the difference in price but it is 6 days later and we We had a nice upgrade, note and chocolates in our room. When we got to the Jewel, we had a nice room upgrade, note and chocolates in our room. I can deal with the mistake and appreciate the upgrade, but they never finished making it right.

Huge difference from last year. Place wasn't as clean (a lot of dust in room, unwiped desk & counters) just dirty for a hotel of that cost. What looked like reused or leftover Kleenex in the box (crumpled). Headboard was inexplicably dirty with stains!! Just a dirty dirty room!! Last year we were greeted with a personal note and treats for our anniversary, and this year nothing! We will not be returning.

Amazing location! Also, the amenities such as the espresso machine or the refillable water bottles were very nice touches! I had read that some people said the room sizes were small but I found them to be quite sizable for a midtown hotel and comfortable overall (our party had both standard and terrace rooms). The front of house was so nice and very helpful. Would stay here again in a second!!
