The reception and bar area was really poor condition torn seating, broken tiles . Poor bar .the smells in the corridors are not pleasing and the carpet cleaner smells in the room are not good . The View is Amazing of the lake and mountains . The location is good walking into the centre of town . Did not use facilities at the hotel .

Value for money, the view and proximity to town are the main benefits with this hotel. The hotel itself is old and tired, but not terrible. Beds were comfortable and room was clean.

The utensils were stored in a cabinet under the sink and there was a terrible smell when we opened the cabinet. We complained to the manager who sent a service person who removed a lot of gunk from the pipe but the situation still did not get resolved The manager apologized but said that we had no choice but to live with the nasty smell in the room. We came to rest in afternoon and couldn’t even do that because the service personnel was working in the room. This was one of the most dissatisfying experiences for us. We would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.

Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing due to the rude and unempathetic behavior of the staff. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with a lack of courtesy and basic respect that one would expect from a hospitality establishment. Staffs were not friendly and treated us cheap as they can. I would never visit or recommend this hotel to anyone

Parking is extremely difficult to find, heater in the room was not working. View is great from the room looking at the lake. The worst part is the reason i book this place was for restaurant but got emailed 1 week ago that restaurant is closed during our stay. Very disappointing, hardly any cutlery in the room. Staff is very helpful.

Copthorne was a suitable choice for us being fairly priced and only 10 minute walk to town (15 minute back - uphill). The included underground parking was also another great inclusion for this stay. The lake views were stunning and this area of town wasmore quiet. Staff were friendly and were able to accommodate to requests. We did not try the restaurant nor other facilities, but the simple bar downstairs was convenient for a quick drink and snack. We used our Millennium Hotels welcome voucher towards it ($35 NZD). Overall, rooms were clean and comfortable for a longer stay with no large complaints. Things for improvement. The furniture and decor is a bit dated so could do with an refresh. There is no AC, instead there's a heating unit that we didn't use, hence the air felt fairly dry, though we were able to combat this with some wet towels to evaporate overnight. Balcony drainage could be improved - there were areas towards the front of the balcony where water pooled after some rain.
