While the room itself looked nice, overall the experience was poor. There is very little soundproofing throughout the property, so a door closing sounded like it was slamming next to your bed. I doubt this was the intent of other guests! It was loud until about 1am, which was not ideal, and at one point an alarm started going off, which the property manager didn't realise. It was unclesr what the alarm was, so some guests evacuated in the rain thinking it was a fire alarm, and I had to call the duty manager to alert him to the alarm and request some help.
The bed was uncomfortable, though it was clean and well presented. Ultimately, this is the experience and service I would have expected at a second rate hostel, so would not have minded had the cost reflected that, but at $300 for the night I think I was probably paying about $250 too much.
