BEAR-A-BOUT Cabin - 3 bedrooms, 3 baths with Hot Tub!

BEAR-A-BOUT

We purchased this home because of the location, minutes to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, and Dollywood. Since we are not spring chickens anymore we wanted a home that had level parking and both master suites are on the main floor with no steps to climb. The downstairs is the game room with pool table . There is also a full bath downstairs. It's so comfy and cozy we fell in love at first sight. I hope you will enjoy our home as much as we do. The Smoky Mountains are breathtaking and there is just so much to do, whether it be hiking, skiing, bear watching, shopping, restaurants, the list is endless. The kitchen is well equipped with dishes, silverware, pots and pans, a mixer, a blender, a Magic Bullet, a toaster, a sandwich maker, roasting pan, a steamer and more. Both master suites have queen size beds with TV in the living room. There are tubs in the two master suites that are so relaxing and also there are separate showers. All rooms have plenty of lighting, got a great hot tub, enjoy checkers in the living room and sunbathe on the large 12x16 deck. Smoking is permitted on the outside decks only please and ash trays are provided.

Great location. Close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Owner very communicative. Clean. We used all 3 rooms and were able to put a twin blow up by the pool table for my teen.

Thermostat not working.

We couldn’t get the top floor to cool down. It seems the air flow was not sufficient to cool off at the set temp of 68 degrees. This made it uncomfortable during the day and hard to get a restful sleep at night.

Beware! The bedding is not washed between stays!! On my first walk through the place, we fell in love. The pictures really need to be updated because it is a really cute cabin. However, after we settled in, we found disgusting white crusty stains on the pillowcases as well as dripping down the bed frame. I immediately reached out to Karen, and her only reply was, " I will talk to my cleaners, thank you." That's it. No apology, no explanation, nothing. Thankfully, there was a washing machine; although I didn't expect to be doing laundry on vacation, we washed all the bedding. The rest of the place seemed clean. The hot tub was clean, and it looked as though the water had just been changed. However, once we began to cook dinner, we discovered that all the dishes in the cabinets were dirty. They had dried, crusted food on them. Needless to say, we won't be back, and I am super unimpressed with Karen and her hospitality.

Cute cabin and great location!

We enjoyed our stay at Bear-A-About. The room in the lower level was perfect for our girls (11 and 13). They loved having their own space. The cabin was clean and had enough toilet paper and bath towels (we brought our own hot tub towels). The cabin had 3 showers, but no bathtubs. Which was fine for us, as we only take showers. We would definitely stay here again. It was perfectly located between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

Bearabout

The property is nice, it needs a few updates/repairs but overall a nice place for our family. The pool table is very wobbly and not level at all. The description says it has a small staircase but the staircase is VERY narrow and Very steep. Also would recommend the owner put curtains in the kitchen window, as you can see directly into the master bedroom from the neighbors and the road at night while sleeping. Overall our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable.

Not as nice as what I expected

Not as clean as I expected, but comfortable. Easy to get to but no view of much but the neighbors. No way to clean up leaves and dirt carried in on feet. All in all we still enjoyed ourselvesI did speak with the host and she had bought a new broom but it had been inadver removed from the cabin.It really is not somewhere I would rent again, but it served the purpose.

What a awesome weekend family retreat!!!

First I must say the pictures do not do justice for this property. The home is beautiful, comfortable, cozy,well located,great hostess to deal with We can not say enought great things. Mama bear and two babys visited in the bottom every night and it was cool to watch mama bear watch her babys climb and have fun. We enjoyed the outside grill with a good suggestion to provide A light to shine over the grill area but we made do with a flashlight. OUR grandaughter loved her 11th birthday weekend gateway with our fur babys. And that is the greatest stay.

Enchanted Getaway!

All 4 of us, ages above 60 enjoyed the coziness of this cabin. It had everything you needed. Beds were comfy, it was very clean, it had all the amenities listed except shampoo but no biggie on that. I think that was just an oversight by the cleaners. overall though, can't complain! Anyone that stays there will love it!

Great cabin in the mountains

It was a perfect little 3 bedroom cabin and did not break the bank. Had all the amenities you could need. Not far from Gatlinburg, pigeon fordge, or the national park. And after a long day exploring, the hot tub was the perfect place to relax. We had a great time.

Be careful

I would encourage the owners to stay a few nights in their rental. 1. The stairs to the lower level bedroom. Steep, small and unsafe. 2. If you’re taller than 5’4, you’re not able to stand up straight. This is in the lower level. 3.Place needs new pillows, soft blankets, towels, towels towel's. Maybe even hot tub towels. 4. Lower level bedroom does not have a door, tv, or fan. 5. Lower level gets damp. 6. Some windows need new screens due to holes. 7. Deep spider cleaning needed, spider webs everywhere. 8. Misleading- one tub- and not a jacuzzi tub, 9. Internet access bare to non in lower level even with WiFi. 10. Tree nuts continuously fell from the tree, hit two people in the head.
