Room was okay - nothing spectacular - but overpriced for what it was.
When booking there was no indication that the pool would be closed for maintenance - one of the driving factors in booking here.
We spoke to reception to discuss a possible discount due to the unavailability of the pool - we were met with a rudely defensive manager who implied it was our own fault for no forewarning about the pool because “we chose” to book through a third party (Wotif).
The manager said (condescendingly) that there’s nothing she can do because we booked through Wotif - she became so rude and animated we ended the conversation and contacted Wotif who tried to help us with a resolution. Wotif staff were absolutely lovely and apologetic about the situation. They tried to contact the manager but after only confirming the pool was closed they were left on hold. Wotif recommended - if possible - to book elsewhere while they escalate the issue and seek a full refund.
We would have settled for a small discount so as to not pay full price for something we couldn’t use, but ultimately it was the disgusting customer service that sealed the deal on us finding elsewhere.
We ended up staying at a nearby Sofitel (5 star) for cheaper (we got to enjoy the pool there after all this).
Do not recommend this Burleigh Beach Tower at all under the current management.
