This is a Premium high $$$ stay, you will feel very fancy here. The private Onsen is the best I have ever had the pleasure of using (it is 1000% worth the surcharge) The only issues I had with my stay were some inconsistencies with the online posting and the english room instructions they appeared a little out of date (for example they both listed a dinner that was not available for our stay)

Overall, I good experience however there are some strange rules. For example, you cannot enter the hotel for several hours before your check-in at 6pm because they’re cleaning. There is no area to wait and relax, not even outside. We were encouraged to visit local museums. Whatever you do, do not arrive early! It’s also a bit odd that nothing is open in the morning so if you wake up between 5-7am, you can only have coffee in your room. The lounge is empty. This resort is spectacular and the views are incredible. We just found a couple things inconvenient. Might go back.

This is an amazing gem of a hotel. It is extremely chic. The staff are so friendly and the food and booze are next level. Not for kids this is really a couples hotel.

My husband and I stayed here for our wedding annivesary and had a splendid time. The concept of a bar hotel was very clear, where we got to enjoy all kinds of spirits, beers and wines at the bar, and in-room. The in-room drinks in the fridge, and snacks were included in the room charge, and they even had Hakone exclusive cokes. The drinks at the bar were tasty too, with a great variety of drinks to choose from the menu and off the menu. The hot springs were very nice at night, but unfortunately, in the morning, there were moths and spiders in the corners and some in the hot spring which didn't feel good. I understand the location is where they can't avoid having those insects with the windows open, however, I felt maybe the staffs could do better on keeping the hot spring more clean time to time. The dressing room and the guest room are perfectly clean and spacious. Breakfast/Brunch was fabulous. We enjoyed both food and drinks with a beautiful view. The 2PM check out time gave us plenty of time to relax back in the room. Overall, the stay was wonderful and would recommend here to have an extraordinary relaxing holiday.
