Great family suite and pools, a few service misses kept it from being perfect We stayed at Hilton Grand Vacations at Kings’ Land in Waikoloa, Kona from March 12–18 and overall had a very good experience. The resort is beautiful, the suite was huge and spotless every day, and the pools were the highlight—clean, warm, and fun for the kids even when it rained. My children still talk about how much they loved the water slides and lazy river, and that alone made the trip worthwhile. A couple of things did stand out though. We arrived very late on check-in night and asked the front desk if we could buy a couple of bottles of water (everything nearby was closed). The agent said no and didn’t offer any alternatives, yet the guest checking in right next to us was handed three complimentary bottles—odd and a bit frustrating after a long travel day. Our room was always cleaned beautifully, but one evening we returned to find our daughter’s favorite stuffed toy and a few other personal items (left neatly on the nightstand) completely gone. We filed a missing items report right away and are still hoping it turns up. Another day we came back exhausted, ready to cook with groceries we’d bought, only to discover the kitchen sink was completely backed up. Maintenance responded quickly, but it took several hours (and a roto-rooter crew) to fix. We couldn’t use the kitchen at all that night. Location was convenient. Staff were really rude, property needs to be updated. Elevator broke numerous times.
