Thistle Ridge is a stunning mountain lake home on Lake Adger that offers the splendor reserved for magazine pictorials! Open concept living with beautiful stone fireplace and hardwood flooring on the main level with Large Master Suite with king bed. The lower level has super nice stained concrete flooring and three more bedrooms, one with a king bed and private bath, another with a king bed, and one with full and two twin-size beds. This level also has a gathering area with a large stone fireplace and a large Hot Tub on the back patio. There is also a really cool swing and hammock on the back patio to relax and enjoy the views!

Super comfortable throughout to kick back and enjoy your time at Lake Adger. This amazing home is 11.7 miles to Chimney Rock State Park, 11 miles to the Beach at Lake Lure, and 7.5 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC).

If you are feeling energetic and looking for a fun activity, this home offers two kayaks and a flat-bottom boat for your use near the water, which has a deep water boat dock. There is a new 4-seat pedal boat with a sun canopy, too! It takes a bit of energy getting back up to the house as it's 124 steps, but great exercise and has lots of pretty views to stop, catch your breath, and enjoy along the way. We've heard the fishing is pretty great at Lake Adger!

In addition to all that Lake Adger offers, Thistle Ridge is about 11 miles from Lake Lure Beach, Chimney Rock State Park, and the village. National Geographic Magazine ranked Lake Lure as one of the top scenic lakes in the world. There are water sport rental options (kayaks, wakeboards, boats, etc.) and pontoon tours of the lake.

The iconic Chimney Rock, for which the village and State Park were named, was featured in Arthur Frommer`s Sept/Oct 2012 issue of Budget Travel magazine. The park received the platinum award for Favorite State Park in Blue Ridge Country’s 2013 Best of the Mountains travel poll, with voting every five years and covering seven southern states in the Appalachian Mountains. Several excellent golf courses are nearby, including Apple Valley Golf Course, Bald Mountain Golf Course, and Etowah Valley Country Club and Golf Resort, which Golf Digest rated as one of the top 50 golf destinations in the US.

This home is located just 30 minutes from Bat Cave, 40 minutes from Hendersonville, 55 minutes from Asheville, and about 1.5 hours from Charlotte, North Carolina. Also nearby are Pisgah National Forest (less than 1 hour from Lake Lure), which has over 500,000 acres of protected forest, and DuPont State Recreational Forest (1.25 hours from Lake Lure) with over 10,000 acres. These forests feature hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, horse trails, exquisite waterfalls, and beautiful mountaintop views. If you and/or your children are fans of The Hunger Games book and movie, a scene with Katniss and Gale was shot at the Pisgah National Forest. A few small but significant scenes were also filmed at the DuPont State Recreational Forest.

The Lake Lure/Chimney Rock/Mill Spring area is conveniently situated for outdoor adventure, including horseback riding, tubing, water sports, hiking, museums, and theater, the Biltmore Estate and Village, shopping and restaurants, and so much more.

*** Summer 2025 - Lake Lure Update ***

Per the website www.townoflakelure.com: Lake Use in 2025- Town Council and Town leadership are keenly aware of the importance of reopening the Lake as soon as it is safe to do so. Given the timing of the work that has been completed thus far and the need for ongoing work moving forward, it is extremely unlikely that the Lake will be able to open for the 2025 summer season. (This includes motorized and non-motorized vessels and swimming.) For those of you who have been following our storm recovery process closely, this news may not be a surprise to you. I thought it was important to share this news with you directly. Please note that Town Council and Town leadership will continue to evaluate options for opening the Lake or portions of the Lake and we will continue to keep you informed with any updates as new information becomes available.

AREA WIDE NOTICE: Lake Lure will undergo a drawdown from January 1st, 2025, through the first quarter of 2025 (March 31st). The lake will begin to be lowered by approximately 1 foot per day until 12 feet have been reached. Infrastructure maintenance, dredging, and dam projects will be expedited during this time frame. These efforts by the Town of Lake Lure may affect access to the lake and restrict any lake usage. For more information, click here. The lake will likely be back up to normal levels by mid to late April. While we understand this is an inconvenience, this does allow you to enjoy the full beauty of Lake Lure in the fall and holiday season. This will not affect LAKE ADGER or the smaller lakes in the area, only Lake Lure itself.
