Our stay was good only, they found it difficult to accommodate for Gluten Free breakfast even though we had paid to include breakfast in our stay

Good location and great views from the room as we got a free upgrade to a lake view room. Unfortunately the hotel does let itself down iby the cleanliness of the room. There was rubbish under the bed left by the rooms ealier occupants, toe nails clippings on thr carpet near the bathroom and heavily stained carpet. Also the restaurant badly needed a remodel as it rained during dinner and unfortunately we got wet due a leaky window seal above us. The waiter did indicate to us a repair was scheduled but due to covid it was pushed back as it has been happening for years so not ideal scenario and finally to top it all husband getting food poisoning from the chucken burger that he ate that night, so overall, it was disappointing, with lots of things that need fixing, wont be staying there again. So wouldn't recommend really

I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. I will discuss the comments with our heads of department teams to ensure we address these urgently. Failing to not clean the room correctly is not acceptable in our standards and we will certainly address it with the respective team members. We also empty and clean the spa pools first thing in the morning and sometimes even twice a day if it had excessive usage or if someone uses any products which can contaminate the water. In regards to the glass roof, the hotel was scheduled to go through a full refurbishment of rooms and complete makeover of public areas as a part of rebranding however due to the supplies issues at the beginning of year it was delayed and later due to Covid it has been deferred to be completed in 2021. Saying that, we have already started conversations with the contractors to get it fixed. Karen, we appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Please contact me when you plan your next visit to Queenstown and we will ensure you have a better experience at Mercure Queenstown. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Mercure Queenstown and definitely recommend this place. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the facilities are excellent.

Fantastic rooms. Only downer was the TV reception was awful, and in one room set for a language we could not read to switch to English.

It was quite evadent that the hotel struggled with low number of staff to cope with the high occupantcy. It was difficult to get a table at breakfast and the kitchen struggled to keep the buffet stocked. We opted to pay for meals in town as a result. I suspect this is a result of covid so understand. Rooms were tidy but nit much noise insulation from the hallwsy. We had booked and confirmed a king bed but had 2 doulble beds. Staff were friendly and helpfull and location was good. Overall with the price we paid we were happy with our stay.
