I stayed in the Tahuna Lakeview Room and was quite disappointed with the overall experience. The room itself was very small, and there was ongoing construction work right in front of it, which completely ruined the lakeview. Because of the construction, the hot tub was also blocked off and the views was gone… IT DIDNT STATE THIS SITUATION ON THE WEBSITE! What made the stay even more disappointing was the customer service at the hotel’s restaurant. A staff member named Katherine was extremely rude and showed no sense of hospitality at all. Her attitude was unprofessional and made the dining experience very unpleasant. Overall, I expected much better for the price I paid. I hope the hotel improves both its facilities and its customer service.

Wonderful hotel, with some quirks. We couldn’t get a room with a view so our room view was the parking lot only which was a bit disappointing. The room itself was very nice and big though. The restaurant and bar are very cozy and have a great view, but the restaurant is very difficult to get into. We were only able to eat there once for dinner but it was fantastic. The area around the hotel is convenient as well with a little shop and a few other restaurants and only a few minutes drive from Queenstown.

Overall, the room was comfortable, the service was very friendly, and breakfast was nice. However, I was a bit disappointed to find that there is a construction site adjacent to the property, which significantly affects the views—both from the common dining areas and from the Soak House. Since the scenery is one of the highlights of the hotel, it was unfortunate that the construction blocked what would otherwise be a beautiful and relaxing outlook. I noticed that there is no mention of this construction on Hotels.com at the time of booking, nor have the photos been updated to reflect the current situation. Including this information would help future guests make an informed decision and manage expectations more accurately. However, the manager addressed my concerns and offered us one day breakfast.

We had a great stay at Kamana Lakehouse, we hadn’t booked a lake view room so the ongoing building work (right in front of the hotel) didn’t bother us. The staff were really friendly and helpful, our room was lovely - cleaned and serviced every day, the breakfasts were tasty and varied and again the wait staff were great. Would recommend.

Our stay at Kamana Lakehouse was truly exceptional from start to finish. The staff were incredibly warm, friendly, and accommodating, always making sure we had everything we needed. Their genuine hospitality made the experience even more memorable. We absolutely loved the complimentary hot tub—the perfect spot to unwind while taking in the beautiful surroundings. It was such a relaxing highlight of our stay. Breakfast was another standout. The variety and quality of the breakfast options were fantastic, with delicious choices that catered to different tastes. It was a wonderful way to start each day. Overall, our experience at Kamana Lakehouse was nothing short of wonderful. From the comfort of the accommodation to the exceptional service, everything exceeded our expectations. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Queenstown, and we’d be happy to return again.

More of an upmarket motel. The listing pictures were generous to say the least. Our room had a view of the carpark and a construction site which wasn’t disclosed before booking. The breakfast was ruinously expensive for a small selection of mediocre à la carte dishes, trying to charge me an extra $7 for a cup to take my coffee away with was the final straw. The “lakeside” bath was right next to the construction site and not relaxing at all. Don’t get me wrong, the place is fine and not terrible value for Queenstown but we left disappointed
