Beautiful home with even better views!

Clean, modern, beautiful home. The kitchen was perfect, the gardens lovely, and the lake views were wonderful.

Beautiful Views

This large and beautiful home with a separate space was very clean and has spectacular views of Lake Rotorua. The house is located off a main road - with some noise from large trucks (felt some vibrations to the house unless it was due to small area/geothermal tremors?) The garden of wisdom is absolutely amazing and worth the walk up and down to the lake. We were able to use the kayaks for a small time frame and wish there were beach towels available for use as we had to use our own bath towels to dry off. The Air conditioner unit is located in only the main living room which did not really help to cool down the bedrooms. We could not open any windows or doors during the night due to the seasonal lake flies coming out at dusk as they are attracted to the light. Ceiling fans would have been a major plus. The toilet was separate from the shower which helped with usage, however, the spaces were a bit confined. Overall, the house is a great space and provided wonderful views of the lake.

Peaceful views

Home was clean and has absolutely lovely views. Peaceful, even though it's off a main road - far enough back that there wasn't any road noise. Grounds are lovely. We didn't have time to take advantage of the kayaks. AC is in the main living room only - the bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen area all had windows. Some have screens, some do not. All are too far away from the AC for it to cool them down.We were there on some hot, summer days and we had come directly from our winter in the northern hemisphere, so not adjusted to the heat. It was just too hot for us to sleep well, even with the fans in the bedroom. If the sliding glass door in the main bedroom had a screen, I think we would have slept just fine. But the windows were too small to let in air, and there were warnings about bugs at night, so that wasn't an option. Overall, a great space; lovely grounds; kitchen had what you needed for making a meal (a few spices, but not many); and a quick trip into Rotorua - maybe 10-15 minutes. Would book again if there was AC in the bedrooms or if I was visiting during cooler months.
