Dreadful visit paid £500 for a room that would normally cost £110 per night. This was because the York University day had pushed up rates - that’s ok it’s commerce. I don’t think the staff got the message because they certainly delivered nothing more for the extra charge. They shut the bar at 10 and turned off the lights. The provided only 3 towels for a party of 4. They delivered the extra towel an hour later than they said. They forgot to service our room meaning we had zero towels. They advertised parking as a hotel amenity there is no parking. The local public car park was full. There was no liquid soap in the bathroom dispenser. Even at £110 you would expect them to get the basics right for £500 they need to do so so much better. As a result of this weekend we will be visiting York much more often but I will not be returning to this hotel.
