Things to Do in Staten Island

Believe it or not, there’s more to New York City than Times Square. Chart your own holiday with some of Staten Island’s attractions. Staten Island Greenbelt isn’t as famous as Central Park, but it offers miles of hiking trails and great views without all the gawking tourists. Most Staten Island trips from across the water start by touching down at EWR. The airport is just about 20 km from the island, making it a relatively quick taxi ride to hotels in Staten Island.

Once on the island, you can get to Brooklyn and New Jersey via several bridges. The best way to get to Manhattan is to take the ferry out of the St. George Ferry Terminal. To travel around the island itself, take advantage of the Staten Island Railway, a hybrid railroad and subway line that operates throughout the island.
