Bed was very comfortable and room was warm. Disappointing that when there was no restaurant available there was also limited means to provide your own Breakfast in the room. ie. no plates or cutlery, or Toaster. Shower is not wonderful but adequate.

One of the best motels I’ve stayed in Rotorua that fitted my budget. The lady was so kind and helpful to me over the phone when I said I couldn’t check in till after 6pm. She gave me clear instructions on how to check in and had really good communication. The room was so nice to stay in aswell lots of space, warm, clean, cosy and peaceful. Thank you so much I’d definitely recommend staying here and would stay here again.

Outside the property doesn’t look too flash but the room was really nice. Plenty of space, recently renovated and very clean. The staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. It was good value and I would stay again.

We were a bit hesitant after reading some of the online reviews online, but we needed economical accommodation for our family of four during an 8-night stay over the Easter break — and Marsden Rotorua turned out to be a great surprise! At around $108/night, we were expecting the bare basics, but the location was super convenient and the facilities were much more modern than we anticipated. The room was clean and functional, and worked really well for a family stay. We came prepared with our own cutlery, coffee decanter, and Google dongle/remote, which worked great with their quality Samsung TV — perfect for relaxing in the evenings. The room also had a heat pump with heat, cool, fan, dry, and swing functions, which made it easy to stay comfortable throughout our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful — they even lent us an extension cord when we asked, which was much appreciated. Overall, it exceeded our expectations and turned out to be excellent economical home base for our stay.

This was our 2nd time staying here, highly recommend Marsden Stay, the rooms are renovated and the Bed was so comfortable we had really good sleeps. Definitely will stay here again. The staff are friendly and super helpful with our queries.

We booked a superior queen room, but got a poor quality room with the only superior part being the new carpet. With both the restaurant and pools out of action and the smell from rotorua in the rooms, it was not a comfortable stay. The only positive I could give was the staff at reception being helpful with taking our luggage up the stairs to the first floor for us.

The location is great. Convenient to Rotorua dining, shopping and activities. However, the property is horrible. The facility is poorly maintained and the renovations being done are low-grade craftsmanship. For example, the paint has dried drips throughout the trimwork. The walls are paper thin, the shower is way too small and the water pressure and temperature regulation is horrible. The property should be razed and rebuilt.

Two night stay

The room was very comfy, the fire alarm did go off three times during our two night stay between 11pm and 7am. The recpetionist was very nice and was greatful we were understanding, a complimentary breakfast would have been nice for the inconvenience, but aside from that beautiful cozy room. The pools were not in use due to maintenance which was a shame, I can imagine when they are they are enjoyable.

the property is still being modernised, no restaurant, cooking area closed, swimming pool closed for rebuild. locks on windows not secure, on the upside the staff were very friendly and helpful and room was clean and fresh.
