Hotel air conditioning in the room Have previously stayed here many times but most recently experienced issue with air conditioning in the room. It emitted loud, disruptive noises every 10–15 minutes and persistent water sounds through the unit and wall. Reported issue to staff for it to be rectified. We were offered a later check-out and an apology. Once then we made contact with hotel manager who also offered an apology and stated they issue would be looked into, plus some other plans for hotel upgrades. were courteous and stated they would arrange for a system reset. I was also offered a late check-out for today as a gesture. Unfortunately the noise continued throughout the night, significantly affecting our comfort and rest.
At check-out this morning (approximately 10:00am), I raised the issue again when I was asked about our stay at the hotel. I received an apology from the staff member (Daisy), who assured me it would be passed on to you. Additionally, I reflected on the stay when leaving the hotel thinking that the property is looking tired, not reflecting the quality typically associated with the Mercure brand. Our experience at the buffet breakfast also left us questioning the quality the hotel seeks to promote, so all combined with what we paid for the one night's accommodation, we have been left very underwhelmed and will make the choice not to stay at Mercure Sydney in the future.
