The rooms were quiet dusty, the tables and around the beds you could see quiet a big build up of dust. Some more detailed cleaning/dusting would help. Often had to ask/follow up with things that should have already been available in the room. Breakfast/restaurant was lovely.

There was no room service available we put out our sign to service the room , we had to ask and it was done late in the evening or in the afternoon , the linen wasn’t fresh , there was a sock and underwear left in the bed.They asked for an extra $200 credit card deposit which wasn’t mentioned when the booking was made. Rydges in Wellington is very central to everything so it should have been a perfect spot but we found even on the top floor, we could hear the traffic. We had a nice view of the harbour but unfortunately filthy windows. We ended up cleaning them ourselves as the hotel staff weren't very helpful despite making commitments to have them cleaned. The rooms are a little challenging if you're not travelling alone. There's a frosted glass panel between the bed and the toilet which doesn't allow for much privacy at all. The shower was nice but there was only one hook for hanging a towel unless you wanted to use the rail over the toilet. Not a sanitary or desirable option. For a 5 star hotel, Rydges still has a way to go before I'd consider recommending it or staying there again.

The location was really good as it was close to the train station, and it was convenient to walk to the shopping district, restaurants and cafes. I liked the entrance as it was nice and clean, and there was also a seating area right there. However, the room was a bit of a disappointment. The room was very warm, even though the AC was on but it was quite old so there wasn't enough air coming through to cool the room down. And because it was a very old AC, it made a lot of noise throughout the day and night, so we didn't actually get a good sleep during our visit. The facilities inside the room were standard. The bed and pillows were too soft for us. The bathroom sink had cracks, and it was a bit dirty behind the bathroom door. Overall, it was alright for a few nights stay.

Loved our stay as always at Rydges, however something needs to be done about the televisions. Ours kept turning off part way through a movie and wouldn't even turn on when we arrived. Helpful staff to turn it on though.

Rydges Wellington

Hotel was fine. Nothing special about it. Restaurant staff seemed not very happy to be there, this includes the hotel manager. I found strange that children were using the lane pool, sauna and spa. The chromecast was unavailable and when we asked someone to come fix it, they said they removed it as "people were stealing it". We stay in room 901, which is close to the housekeeping closet, it was quite noisy all morning. Not good value for money but nice beds.
