DONT BOOK - AVOID IT:Serious health & safety concerns. RATING ZERO OUT OF 10 This is by far the worst place I have stayed in NZ. I am shocked this lodge is still operating. It is dirty, unsafe, misleadingly advertised, and completely mismanaged. Reception was closed on arrival. We had to call a number that went to a call centre, then waited a long time for a staff member to arrive. The receptionist struggled to understand English and had to call someone to translate. Basic communication was extremely difficult. Our room had no toilet paper. When we informed staff, he did not believe us and searched the room himself before finally providing some. The room was filthy and very dusty, with loose hanging furniture posing a safety risk. One bedroom light did not work. The linen was old, dirty, and worn. The duvet inner had no cover, cushions were frayed, and the kitchen was not cleaned—the coffee pot was left dirty on the bench. We booked for four people, but only three beds had linen. The fourth person slept on a broken couch after we were forced to request extra linen. The laundry we were shown had linen thrown on the floor. The pool looks extremely old and was closed. The advertised kids’ playground had only two broken swings. The photos online are completely misleading and do not reflect the actual condition.Other guests were also complaining, but we had no alternative accommodation. place is a health hazard. I would never recommend it to anyone. Avoid at all cost.diasappointed

Extremely disappointing stay and nothing like what was advertised. We booked and paid for 4 people, but the room was only set up for 3. One person was forced to sleep on the couch, which was not acceptable. When we raised this and asked for a change or solution, management refused to help in any way. The room was also dirty. We found a used band-aid left behind, which we had to clean up ourselves. That alone is unacceptable from a motel charging these rates. There were also serious issues with the windows. Two windows did not have latches, meaning they could not be properly closed from inside. We literally had to push them shut from the outside, which is unsafe and ridiculous. On top of that, the kitchen window had no window coverings at all, allowing people to see straight into the room where the couch and one of the beds were located. Zero privacy. We were also unexpectedly asked to pay a bond on top of the hire fee, which was not made clear upfront. To make matters worse, we still have not received the bond back. We contacted the motel asking for assistance and some form of compensation, as the accommodation was not what was advertised. They refused to refund anything or offer any help whatsoever. Overall, poor cleanliness, misleading advertising, safety and privacy issues, and terrible customer service. I would not recommend staying here and will not be returning.

Room was suitable. Good facilities to be self sufficient. Has a fan and no air conditioner. We booked because it had a pool. It closed at 5pm and we could not use it. It was also supposed to be open at 9am but it was not open when we left at 10am.

There are alot of hanging cobwebs from the Bedroom ceiling. One of the windows in the bedroom won't close. The curtain netting has mold on it. Wall plug outlet in bedroom is faulty and dose not work. Wall plug outlet switch has almost popped out so we didn't dare use the TV. Over all.... A very unsafe room for a family with little kids.

This property is nothing like the photos, it was filthy beyond words. The grounds un kept, we had chicken bones outside our door, beer bottles out front, the place did not look like it had been cleaned in a long time. The pool was covered and appeared like it had not been used for quite some time. Spa was the same with cloudy water.

Nice place to stay. However, with us being there for most of the week, there was no check in at reception, we waited for an hour and half for check in. The cleaning staff did not check our rooms to see if we needed fresh towels or rubbish cleared or tea/coffee topped up. Apart from that, it was a nice place to stay

This was the worst motel we have ever seen. We actually didn't stay and had to quickly book another motel which was hard last minute. The place was filthy, and the room which hadn't been cleaned was not habitable, the receptionist didn't speak any English so had someone on a speaker phone trying to organise all the arrivals. We don't think this this motel should be allowed to operate.

I arrived after 5pm so I called the after hours, they instructed me clearly on what to do, easy transaction, the room, was clean. just the big window was too close to the cars driving around the back, lol. Otherwise it was a good stay.

Yellow stains on bath towels and insects, hair sticking up out of shower plug which was broken and shower didn't drain standing in water, no plug for kitchen sink or cloth or tea towel. Property very run down and tired. No info pack in room and strong smell in room- musty.
