Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent stay. Security deposits are common practice in hotels around New Zealand and are taken to guarantee for any incidental charges that may incur during your stay. Pre-Authorisations taken on cards are normally released by the hotel on the day of departure however take 5-7 working days to be released by the bank. We do apologise if you felt the staff were argumentative in their approach as we always strive to be as accommodating and informative as possible in every guest interaction.
