Aircon smelled mouldy on the 8th floor and air vent was blocked up with dust. Toilet bowel was on the small side, encouraged residuals with no way to clean yourself

Very noisy room , ask for a quiet room the rooms on Queen St are VERY nosiy would not recommend if these are all they have. A shame as the Hotel is in a great area for the City and things to do. Not sure I would stay again.

I’ve wanted to try this hotel for a long time and booked over a year ago for a special occasion. The staff are lovely and helpful. The bed was very comfy. Hotel in great location. That was where the good stuff ended. The room smelled very musty/moldy. Had to have the balcony door open for extended periods of time and room smelled if left shut up. The hot water ran out during my shower the first morning. The shelf in the shower was not secured properly and couldn’t be used to place shampoo etc on. The hot tub had broken and was under repair, which we weren’t told until we tried to use it. If you are coming by car, don’t. It’s a nightmare. I got abused by the courier driver while trying to drop off luggage and get car put into valet. My husband had to go around the block multiple times. The room seemed to be missing some of the elements you would expect of a 5 star hotel. On another note- we were on the 8th floor. The lift only goes to 7th. We are fit, so didn’t worry us. Not many amenities for a 5 star. Not worth the price tag.

Brilliant staff. They made everything easy. Very accommodating with early check-in. Nothing was a problem. I can't wait to get back to the Fable. I will book it again and again.

Staff support lacking, terrible check in. Considering that check in is from 2 pm there was one one person on check in the phone was ringing off the hook. The process took about 20 minutes.

The hotel was absolutely fabulous but we did have a couple of minor issues. The first morning that the room was made up they didn't replenish the tea and coffee. Also with you eco plan, towel rails would be helpful but the bathroom was beautiful and towel rails would ruin the look so most people would throw the towel on the floor 🤷 we did have a problem with the shower overflowing (507). If you use the rainfall head the drain can't manage the flow. The restaurant was amazing (best lamb I've ever had,). The receptionist was eager and enthusiastic which always is a good thing. They also didn't account for 3 people in the room, 2 teacups, 2 coffee cups, 2 wine glasses. There were 3 towels though. We would absolutely return because it had a really charming, old fashioned, classy feel overall ❤️

The area gets a bit unsettled at night but fable is perfectly located with impeccable amenities (most comfortable bed and shower of our two week trip) and an incredibly attentive staff. We would stay again in a moment!
