Was woken up in the early hours of my first night there with a repeated message that there was a fire alarm in a different part of the building. Nothing came of it but there was no hot water fro the shower in the morning. I assume this was related to the fire alarm but no explanation or apology. Room was not made up next day but I arrived back about 5 p.m. and a man asked if I wanted it done. By that time I couldnt be bothered having someone in there with me so said no. I have stayed there often. THis was my worst experience there.

The Stamford is a lovely property and well located within easy walking distance to the waterfront restaurants and shops. Staff are friendly and could not have been more helpful. Currently being adversely impacted by major infrastructure works outside resulting in waking to the music of jack hammers etc .Challenging car access for a visitor not familiar with the city as a result of works.

On Saturday morning we asked front desk to book the Japanese restaurant for 7pm. This was not possible apparently but we were not advised.As a consequence we waited in the bar from 5.30 till 7.00 only to be turned away. The main ingredients for the breakfast were cold and so were the plates we had to eat off

Great location, however the ongoing roadworks outside make parking a bit of a nightmare, even the valet guys are now having trouble. Getting to the hotel via car takes some navigation, with only one route now open.
